Jazzmeia Horn got her name from her grandmother, who probably had the foresight to decide on the name. Legend has it that her mother simply wanted to call her “Jazz”, but then the young singer would have had a series of second names such as “Soul”, “Pop” or “Hip Hop”. Although the singer, who was born in Dallas, Texas, clearly belongs to the under-30 generation, she has easily made the leap to the top. She was nominated for the “GRAMMY” music award for her debut album “A Social Call”. Today she is more than just an insider tip - she is in demand on stages large and small all over the world. Together with the WDR Big Band, Jazzmeia Horn performs the concert “A Social Call” under the direction of former chief conductor Michael Abene. Produced on January 12, 2019 at the Kölner Philharmonie.
