That was one of the most authentic roaring 20's versions I've ever seen. She was perfect. Did you notice how well she did the limber arm movements? That is the sign of a professional master. She didn't just dance superbly, she took us back in time.

When I was a little girl, my Grandma took out some photos of her brother and her. She had been a flapper. Right there in the kitchen she busted out the Charleston for me-being very young I giggled the whole time but damn, she could really move, arthritis and all. Thanks for bringing back a very happy memory of my Grandma dancing the Charleston in her kitchen !!

That was truly cool! Can't believe they did that while plastered with moonshine! But yes, my mom's mom was a "flapper" when she was young in the 20s. In fact she was an "It Girl." She and my grandfather held popular parties at their house in Omaha (Mom remembered the sound of laughter in the living while she was in bed, the phonograph playing loud jazz). When the Depression hit, my grandfather lost his lucrative living and drank himself to death. Grandma had to go to work, so she and Mom moved back to Cedar Rapids to be with relatives and live a very frugal life.

OMG! I think I'm on track to set a Gluiness World Record for watching a KZfaq video. Just can't get enough of the pure joy Maria communicates through her dance routine. Absolutely love it.

@@mlj_the_shield "Amazing" is the right word alright. Sometimes I almost think she's made of rubber. This video never fails to make me smile which is why I play it each morning to set the rest of the day right.

Keeping an art style alive on the internet, almost entirely by yourself, is not a minor feat. Well done Maria. Always good to see your cheerful upbeat attitude expressed in dance.

It stays alive even on its own merits! Looking up "cutting shapes" or "shuffling"! Its basically Charleston with a modern upgrade

She's light as air and was having so much fun! Not bad for being 101. 😁. I love watching a master at their craft. The craft doesn't matter. That was lovely!
