Can you put Gift Wrapping Paper in epoxy RESIN? Easy DIY Christmas Ornaments!
In today’s video I am attempting to put Christmas wrapping into epoxy resin to make some cute Christmas ornaments. Paper is a really tricky thing to put into resin because it’s absorbent and can absorb resin leaving it looking wet. With wrapping paper we have the same issue but it also tends to be super thin so it’s going to be interesting to see how it handles. I’m going to be sealing the wrapping paper with mod podge. If this works the possibilities are endless due to there being so many different wrapping paper designs. Join me in this video to see if I manage to pull this off.
P.S if this works you could also make cute matching (and unique!) gift tags for your presents!
*When working with resins make sure you are working in a well ventilated room and be wearing the right PPE. Resin is a chemical and can make you sick if you don't take the right precautions.*

Instead of using Modpidge I would paint some white acrylic on the back of the paper, let it dry, then it's good to go. The paint will keep whatever behind the paper from showing through. Just an idea. I love your idea of using wrapping paper in the ornaments!!!

the mod podge is to seal the paper, not to keep whatever’s behind it from showing through. it’d be pretty awful wrapping paper of you could see through it

The mod podge is to keep the paper from absorbing the resin. But a white layer of paint behind it could be useful if you were to design something on the back to show on the other side :)

All of them are really cute. I think the toy soldier is my favorite. I've watched Claire of Claire's Crafty Corner edge things with the chrome marker a couple of days ago. She leaves the item on the table, holds her right hand still on the edge of the item, then turns it with her other hand. You did a great job with the edging... just wanted to share her idea. My hand is unsteady and I think her technique will work for me. This is a really great tutorial. Thank you!

I haven’t tried putting pictures in resin yet but if I can get wrapping paper in there then pictures should be similar. 🤔 Hopefully I can do a video soon!🫡
