@@tbaca619 Thanks for the compliment! The Expert Power has five indicator lights. After one hour of loud play it went down one bar, so figure 5 hours max at loud SPL. I want to warn you though: Since making the video, on two separate occasions using the Expert Power with the Sub1 playing at over 100dB with bass heavy content the Sub1 shut down. I figure it was the internal limiter kicking in. If I had to do it again I would buy at least 500 - 800 watts. On the MK2 there is a balanced Line Out. An important feature I forgot to mention is the fact that on the App there is gain control. None of the Bose Pro line has this feature and I miss it. EV30 App does have gain control on the line out and even EQ which JBL lacks. I will run a Bose Sub1 from the Line Out and will be able to integrate it perfectly with the column from a distance. Some newer subs like the EV200-12 have Bluetooth control so this wouldn't be such an issue, but you would be fiddling with another App. In the past I would Aux out the sub from a mixer. Here no mixer needed! Big plus for JBL

If not, what alternative can you recommend with the same setup with JBL Eon One MK2? Anyways, great review as always!

Hi there Mr.Weiss, I just got my first JBL EON ONE MK2 today, second is on its way. I must say that I was very skeptical although your review compelled me most over many others to purchase. I have a couple of older EON 10 Actives and they have been bullet proof hence this also swayed me a little. I am very impressed with the SQ out of the box, and after tweaking it a lil quite franky am amazed at how well balanced and composed it is even at higher volume. Was also considering a pair of EV Evolve 30M's although I will be going for a pair of Evolve 50's for more oomph and overall impact in a live band scenario. The JBL will be mainly used as a multipurpose go anywhere system due to its inbuilt-battery powered capability. Shame it didn't include a cove and I kind of agree that the JBL PRO Connect app is a lil frustrating as you mentioned, but it seems good enough and seem like it'll get the job done. I think this is a great product and feel it will get a lot of use at home for parties and get togethers as well as impromptu remote events when and where appropriate. It has no real competition right now in March 22 for overall sound quality functionality and portability. Thanks again for your help and your reviews, keep up the good work, it is very much appreciated. Take care and God Bless 🙏

@@WWeiss-nv5vz Primarily bought the MK2 for its portability and it sounds better than I had anticipated. It's pretty much sold out here in Australia unlike the PRX One which I think is in a much more competitive market sector. The EON One MK2 has it wrapped up IMO. Hi Bill, thanks a ton for all this info; this seems like an excellent system! How does the EON One MK2 compare to the Everse 8 when paired with a sub-something like the Yorkville EXM Mobile Sub, Bose Sub1, Turbosound IP12B sub, or EV ELX12-SP? The Everse 8 is so portable and I'm thinking a modular system would be nice-having the Everse 8 as an ultra portable system for a wide variety of uses and then pairing it with a regular powered sub or battery powered sub for a fuller sound when necessary.
@WWeiss-nv5vz Жыл бұрын
I actually pair the Everse 8 with the MK2. The MK2 is more room filling with a smooth Hi-fi like midrange. MK2 has better bass. Both play equally loud. The Everse has a high end clarity that adds missing sparkle to the MK2. Everse has your typical PA/QSC sounding high end. Don't get the Yorkville sub! It is under powered and doesn't have a removable battery. The Everse with a Bose Sub1 or EV ELX12-Sp will have noticeably better bass than the MK2, really next level or as I say, a real subwoofer! Can't beat the convince how everything packs up into one unit with the MK2. I run those subs on external power if you're interested but that's extra $$$.If you don't need internal battery the QSC CP8 outperforms the Everse! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a6d6mKefuLualJs.html

Thanks for the offer but adding a tweeter will void the warranty. At this point I have retired the Maui5 Go because of the rolled off highs. Even if the Maui5 is louder which I don't think it is, the MK2 has a much smoother mid range - more like a Hifi speaker/Bose like and the 10" woofer hits much lower and louder than the Maui. I saw your video and read the comments and connected them with the cable but couldn't Bluetooth pair them to play together without the cable like I do with my eon one compacts ,which was simple to do. So only one speaker will play from my computer and the other will not unless cabled. With my android phone I am able to play them together because I'm able to connect two Bluetooth devices at the same time.

I use two Bose S1’s on a dual mount yoke on a single, crank-up speaker tripod along with a single Bose Sub1. I use an external mixer, obviously for more inputs and better EQ control. While this system I have is definitely more money (approx $2k) I believe it’s way more power, greater dispersion and clarity, and more flexibility than any single column array I’ve reviewed. My entire rig including all necessary cables, stands, tip jar, mixer, and accessories fit on one cart for easy load in/out. I’ve never ran out of “gas” with this system in the medium sized venues I gig at. It’s loud and more importantly, clear and highly intelligible to the entire audience. While the JBL MkII is totally portable with full battery operation, I can add a portable Jackman AC power pack to power my sub and all accessories for over 10 hours. As much as I like the idea of an “all-in-one” solution, I really haven’t heard such a system out-perform my rig.

Yes it's a work in progress. Hopefully firmware updates will improve the glitches. It's not bad though. 8 Band EQ really lets you tailor the sound to your liking. Only EV has a superior App. Bose App is very basic. RCF, Yamaha, Turbosound, their Apps are worse than JBL.

Trouble! Did some max testing today on battery, everything flat, only got 98.9dB before clipping! My S1Pro goes higher! Went as high as 106.2dB with bass boosted to max. Heard zero distortion but main channel clip light was on constantly! Even with bass at maximum sounded nothing like a dedicated sub like Bose Sub1. Not sure if I should return or just get the extended warranty and play it into the ground? Any suggestions would be welcome. Gain staged as JBL recommended. This unit has excellent sound but unfortunately there is an issue with early clipping just like the JBL Compact. Maybe this can be fixed with a firmware update in the future. With the same dynamic track( Stravinsky: L'Histoire Du Soldat The Royal March) the MK2 clipped red at 99.5dB. The Bose S1Pro clipped at 99.9dB, Mackie Thump Go 97.4dB and it is a $400 speaker compared to $1,200. JBL support is MIA as usual. Remember the nightmare of the Eon One Pro! I really want to keep this speaker because it is the first battery PA speaker that sounds so Hifi/full range. It makes the Bose S1Pro sound like a toy! If I turn it up it sounds incredible and I hear no distortion/clipping but at those levels either the channel volume or master volume is SOLID red!
