Woow Motion Boom is impressive at 60%, especially in comparison to Xtreme 3 given the huge price difference, Rave Neo sounds muddy with bad highs. Soundcore keeps producing impressive speakers and great value. Alan you are definitely nr 1 speaker reviewer on KZfaq thanks to your excellent focus on details. No competition after Oluv left the platform.

I'm wondering if you can party-cast or otherwise play simultaneously the Motion + and the Motion Boom together? That way, you'd get greater clarity, along with some bass.

Yes, I can agree, the default EQ presets on the Rave Neo are crap. I had to implement a custom EQ for max and custom eq for lower volumes. If you adjust - I think you will be very impressed. Also - I found that the Rave Neo sound travels much further.

The preset eq(indoor, outdoor, bang) of rave neo really sucks, but when adjusted to custom eq its way way better sounding.

as in my opinion Anker boom is the leader in sound quality, it has a clear and balanced sound at all frequencies. At the moment I have Anker sound motion +. Very pleased with this product.

Man that motion boom is very impressive. I should have bought the motion boom but I didn’t know it was coming out. I had bought the trans go which is like the Rav Neo but without the lights. Awesome videos as always keep up the outstanding work!👍🏻

I really felt that deep bass for the Xtreme 3, definitely made my Life Q30 vibrate more than the Soundcore Motion Boom in the 85% volume test. However, I am genuinely amazed by the Soundcore Motion Boom, it felt like the most balanced out of them all. The Soundcare Rave was really way too "bassed-out" which makes any voice / treble muddy, couldn't even hear them as if they were in some echo'd church but might be able to get something out of it with some equalizing, guess we'll see with the custom mode review. Big thank you for your reviews as usual Alan, been enjoying my Soundcore Motion+ so much, might get the Motion Boom for even more fun, bass sound next time even though i am a little bit disappointed with the loss of Aptx, tweeters, AUX and that rather cumbersome handle. For 200 pounds less, i'll sacrifice the lower bass for a way better deal and go with the Soundcore Motion Boom at 80.

Looks like motion boom it is!!! You seem to have been another lucky one again mate. Emailed Soundcore and they’ve said UK release date is uncertain due to lack of stock. Sigh. Returned the Xtreme 3 to get this.

Best thing is that I got two of the motion booms and still got money to spare when compared to the xtreme3. My co-worker has the xtreme3 and said I got the cheaper wannabe speaker and that because it's cheaper it sucks. I chuckled inside while he was justifying his purchase, because we both earn the same salary and I can pay the bills and he got evicted once already.

When you're describing the difference between lower bass and upper bass you say that the Xtreme 3 has more deep bass than the Xtreme 2. What would you say was more prominent on the Xtreme 1?

I'm really surprised to see Motion Boom doing that well compared to Xtreme 3. I was thinking of getting an Xtreme 3 but I might get a Soundcore Boom instead. I will just miss the aux port on the Boom but I will use my Motion+ for situations that need wires.

Apart from this technical comparison, I found JBL best. I have Extreme 2 and SoundCore Motion Plus. Soundcore is no near JBL if you have an audiophile ear in practical use. I don't have these models so may be there some changes however I dont think Soundcore will beat JBL in terms of music output quality. If you consider price then its a different story. Nice review.

IF tribit is not coming out with a party speaker anytime soon and soundcore isn't coming out with an upgraded version of this speaker - with tweeters, 40w power, nicer design - THEN it can be champ to me

Would you be able to evaluate dispersion characteristics as well? Using these as party speakers, people would be moving all about and the tweeters in the xtreme would probably be far better than a full range driver?

My dream has always been to get a quality party speaker and a travel speaker that I can connect. Also wish these speakers came flat out of the box and came with a true bass up or good eq for party music or outdoor listening along with volume compensation for enhanced bass when listening at low volume. New to your channel, very much enjoyed the content. I just bought a motion boom and have been playing around with the customizable equalizer off of the SoundCore app. Are you using a different equalizer through another app? Also do you have different customizable settings for example rocknroll and rap and jazz music?

Finally got the Soundcore Motion Boom and it all around rocks. I love it. I hv a very good ear and while not perfect, it really does sound good both indoors and out. Thx for this really good comparison.

This is honest Review!

I really like the sound boom, very impressive. That rave sounded like a pillow was in front of it, and I wouldn't be able to listen to it. The JBL I think was fantastic in the lower registers at 80% during that song, but aside from that I think the sound boom was basically equal for a 1/3 of the price. Edit: I spoke too soon. At 100% plugged in that JBL was incredible. What a cool feature they added for when you can plug in! I still have a hard time dropping $400 for the Extreme 3. That's just too much.

Just the fact that a coupl eof speakers under 100 bones can hang with a $350 speaker shows you how over-priced the Xtreme 3 is.

I hear that some people were having some charging and button problems after 5-7 months with the soundcore neo is this true? I wanna get it but scared for it so mess up as of right now im leaning towards the neo or JBL charge 4 ik JBL is reliable

I have Trendwoo boomX for less than 50$, close to jbl xtreme low and more power. And the design is awesome. The problem is a little noise on 20% less volume. If you(alan) would try it, im sure it gonna be your new best per pound speaker

Hey Alan, have you seen the Soundcore Trance Go? I think it's more then just a "unlighted" version of the the Rave Neo. I didn't see a review of it on yet online. I seen it on Amazon for $99.99 American. I enjoy my Soundcore Booms in stereo but the Trance Go is rated at 50w like the Neo. I wonder if without the lighting there maybe more differences. To me, the JBL feels like you are right there live with the music while the others seem like you're listening in a room or a hallway a bit more overall. I prefer the live experience

The neo seems crippled in this test without the equalizer. The boom is very impressive sounding.

Listening at my THX certified speakers and Hifime DAC at your 40% volume the Motion Boom is the best, JBL last. At 100% volume JBL is first and Motion Boom last.

The Motion Boom has more presence and well it did say "Extended 40kHz..." in the specs, the Boom is the best BT Speaker I have bought (My old JBL Flip 3 was given away)

The SRN is a mono speaker and is limited by this in the comparison. It comes into it's own when it's in TWS mode paired with another SRN. Bass, Mids and Treble separation is so much better.

Got the jbl extreme 2 and returned when I got the motion plus... week after gettin motion plus the motion boom was released so I ordered one of those .... I then returned the motion plus and now got my second boom!!!! Speaker that got my attention tho is the aiwa exos 3.... if the motion boom had a couple tweeters i think it would be best bt speaker on the market
