This scene is also a good way to show just how much mental and/or emotional trauma can screw with someone's head. I know from personal experience just how badly mental or emotional trauma can screw with you. I lost a friend suddenly and unexpectedly to an accident with a stolen handgun (he was with another friend of his at the time, and his friend found a handgun on the ground that later turned out to have been stolen, and in the process of trying to unload the weapon, it discharged and shot my friend in the head, killing him instantly) back when I was just 13 years old (so I was even younger than Clive was when he "lost" Joshua), and even though I legitimately couldn't have possibly done anything to save him, I was still tormented by thoughts like: *"Maybe I could have saved him."* or *"If I was there he might still be alive."* ....It took me a long time to finally come to terms with losing my friend like that, and I wasn't even there, nor could I have done anything to intervene (and even had I been there, it's very possible that I could have been the one to lose my life instead). If Clive hadn't had Jill there to serve as his greatest confidant and his "rock of reliability", there's a very real possibility that he could have eventually turned suicidal. But thanks to Jill's calming influence, and the fact that she understood him so well, she was able to pull him back to some semblance of a stable mental state.

There are these moments in Final Fantasy games you keep in your mind even 20 years after experiencing them... "let’s mosey", "suplexing a train", "catching Rinoa in space", "seeing Vivis‘ sons", "saying goodbye to that blitzball player"… Today, "You‘re not Ifrit, I am" is another of those Final Fantasy moments I will remember and cherish until the day I die.

So far you are one of the only ones I've seen that felt the same level of absolute hype as I did. Just like you, I was literally screaming for that entire portion of Clives character arc. Even shed a few tears cause I just couldn't grasp what I just witnessed 🤣 Im like 60% into the games story and I can already say Clive is one of my absolute favorite protagonists of all time and a good looking one at that😳 Definitely subbing cause I relate so much with your reaction to this!

But idk which I like more titan or bahamunt fight! Also hope that’s not the last dope fight in the game. I hope Clive’s theme when he accepts the truth comes back at some point it was so fuckin sick

1:29:18. When Clive turns into Ifrit and they show the upclose of his Ifrit's face with all the heat radiating around it. So bad ass! This whole scene is so good because it's so relatable and so symbolic of what we face in real life. We all have inner demons we battle and may we all win them at some point!

How this game takes it leitmotifs and amplifies them or manipulates them to the moment is on another level above any piece of media I've ever witnessed. The body expects the old version of the motif, and when it's changed and adjusted, full body chills every time.

Does anyone else think that Kupka was set up to target Cid? After Cid’s interactions with Benedikta and his apparent sadness over her death, I can’t see him sending her head to Kupka. But the king of Waloed? I could see that dude sending the head and then blaming it on Cid to start problems. After all, Cid said that he just uses them. I’m curious to see if we’ll learn the truth of that for certain.

It goes completely against Cids character. But it did fit Barnabas to a t, especially since he was literally screwing her. He would have had a better idea about how Kupka felt than anyone. She probably told him quite a bit and he wanted to stir up shit.

You should rearrange your eikon skill bro, especially when you can put 3 eikon powers later it will be your advantage when facing harder bosses. I'd say you probably want to separate between offensive (combo and staggering), defensive (counter skills for melee and projectile) and ultimate which you will only use when the enemy staggered.
