I think it helps that no one was actually harmed from her antics. After the cat was kicked they made it a point to show that the cat was perfectly fine, just comically angry, and the granny didn’t have a scratch on her. It’s just a gag with no real consequences to others so it’s easy to laugh it off and wait to see what she does next😂

@@userusernomitrue.. my dislike for her came from that scene as well. Like I still can't forgive her esp after seeing how loyal some other side characters are and how well they are treated 😂

It personally doesnt make it better for me. Sure, you can survive getting kicked, but would you like to be treated that way? She is narcissistic, arrogant, sexist and hateful. I like her character, but is she really supposed to be a character with good qualities?

@@userusernomi That’s true, I don’t blame anyone for not letting that go, especially since their only “crime” was helping Luffy. But I saw that more as them “breaking the law” of their society and getting punished by the monarch of that society more so than it just being her bad personality like the others were. I probably was mad at her too when I first saw that scene, however many years ago that was, but she became one of my favorite characters not long after that

@@_Lumiere_ You’re definitely right, she is all the things you described. I wouldn’t necessarily say she’s a good or bad person, but you don’t have to be a good person to be a great, compelling character. There’s a strong reason why she acts the way she does, especially towards men, but it isn’t portrayed as an excuse for her actions. She’s an asshole and she’s strong enough to back it up😂

Boa captures all under her spell 😂. In all honesty though, i think they manage to have her act in a way thats pretty scummy but also in a weird way almost childish. I think the childish behavior she sometimes has mixed in with her good looks helps nullify any genuine dislike of the character.
