What I am trying to figure out is how this overrides the steering wheel lock function when there is no key in the car. Is it that white plastic cylinder housing that they made a replacement for that controls the locking system? Does your steering wheel still lock if you turn the wheel while car is off?

Hey Shamar. Just added this mod to my Civic after the keylock cylinder gave out. It took me like 4hrs to do. NGL it was a fucking bitch to get out the screws. I had to drill both screws off. Then the little screw behind the wheel uggggh. Anyways, Thanks for the vid it helped me out a bit.

I know this is an old video, but do you think there'd be a way to set it up in a way where once the key is inside the car it'll let you start it? Like the 10th gen civics and newer have it. What if I cut the wire to the key scanner and run the scanner wire to a relay that doesn't let the signal through unless power is given to the relay? That way I can get power from a device that gets power only when the car is unlocked and it can simulate an OEM push to start.

Do you still need a key to open the doors, or do they automatically unlock when you walk up to it?

Only push to start engine no key involvement I saw another video in that video honda civic 2006 model first u need to switch on thru key then push the button to start engine
