Most people dont realize back in the day K-Line was a major player that put out alot of quality scale stuff. Great looking set.

When I WAS VERY VERY YOUNG Jason my uncle had passed away they lived in PA I got to ride the original PENNSY Broadway Limited train over horseshoe curve from Penn Station on NYC I will never forget the shine on those passenger cars they were so shiny you needed to wear sun glasses ;-)

Kline was an amazing company at the end. Making really nice stuff. Much of which has completely evaporated into the ether. I have converted many cars from 3-rail to 2-rail. Trucks, interestingly enough, are still being made by Lionel, who purchased kline (or k-line)' intellectual assets.

I almost purchased this set a few years back at York. It was missing the RPO which is my favourite part of passenger rail of the era, especially on the NYC. Still regret not picking it up as they have become even more hard to find as no one wishes to let them go. Thanks for sharing another part of such a beautiful collection!

Jason, that is a very impressive New York Central KLine Passenger Cars. The detail is outstanding and they really look great travelling around your layout. Good luck with them. and now I might consider getting a set in HO scale. And I can imagine seeing them on the Hudson line along the river. The colors are impressive.

I’m a die-hard Pennsy fan but even I must admit, those cars are beautiful! They’ll probably never make them like that again! Can’t wait to see the Hudson pulling them once it’s fixed!

K-Line put out an amazing line of passenger cars along with some great stock cars back in the late 80's-early 90's...Unfortunately I missed out thinking the were to 'expensive'....your set looks awesome running on a yet unfished layout....great addition to your collection

My first set my dad bought me was K Line's FDNY 9-11 set, still running it today. I was kid so quality didn't mean much to me but looking at them now they were quality products especially for that era.

Jason excellent acquisition. I have the exact same set but in UP - absolutely gorgeous. However, be aware that the lights will eventually fail. I will have to replace the standard Xmas tree lights that are in the cars. The cars were way ahead of their time for features and quality. Keep them and enjoy.

The one train I am still looking for that I never bought way back when is the MTH Tin Plate Blue Comet in O gauge....I got a great deal on the passenger cars from a guy who lived right by me.....that was about 5-6 years ago...those MTH tin plate engines are not hard to find and if so the $$$ is high....Just like your K-Line cars!!...their was great stuff coming out back when we had Lionel, K-Line, MTH, WIlliams, Atlas, ect...I hope to see that again some time soon....

You know something else Jason the very first run of the Kato N scale California Zephyr passenger car set brand new would go for 1,000 bucks on eBay that's because of the silver solarium observation cars WOW 11 car sets

I have three K-Line CNW aluminum bi-levels, with the matching E8's also K-Line. Took me three years to complete the set. My favorite cars. Enjoy!

Maybe you can look around and find a couple more coaches to add to your consist or even add in some mis-matched cars and head end cars as passenger trains didn't always have perfectly matched sets front to back. Beautiful layout. Coming along nicely.

The Lionel Vision line Niagara 6001 in the grey scheme would look amazing in front of those cars. Also my engine I got because of seeing a video of one was my Pennsy J1a. I took the QSI sound out and installed TCS Wowsound. I feel like I should’ve went Soundtraxx Tsunami 2 for high bass chuffing but I like the Pennsy whistles from TCS more than Soundtraxx.

I’ve been looking for these because my grandpa has a mail car which has the baggage car doors, but also passenger car windows. I’ve been looking for matching k line train cars for so long. He only has one. His doesn’t have as much detail like this though.

Yes, I have seen rolling stock on others tracks that I want…trailer trains, like I saw on your track…but point of fact, I wanted them before I saw you had such a large collection of them. But, the cost now is too much. I do have some K-Line, nib. But I’m afraid to open them😁

Btw, I still have my K-line 6 car consist of 15" nyc Pacemaker passenger cars NIB that I've spoken to you about before. If you know some O gauge modeller who doesn't have as much space for large curves like yours and might be interested in buying, let me know. I'd appreciate it.

Now all you need to do is build an addition on to your house to model is the Hudson River Valley (cliffs and river and castles and all) in O Scale and you will have quite the museum quality layout! Personally, I love the late steam -first generation diesel era for modeling as the MU (ABBA) cab units and big steam just look great and frankly represent of the glory days of rail transport in North America when there were so many colorful roads still operating. Plus 40 foot box cars with roof walks from that era were much more colorful than what is run today. Ideally, it would be nice to have two or more separate but equal layouts for different eras (I suppose this would be possible for many people in N Scale or Z scale) as I have never been able to personally enjoy running modern diesels and rolling stock on the same layout alongside 90 to 70 year old equipment prototypes. Sometimes I switch out the entire inventory of my locos and rolling stock and static vehicles to run different eras but with 300 rail cars and 60 locos, it is quite the chore to remove and store everything to swap eras as I have to rebox/unbox the cars the storage. I sometimes wish I was not so rigid in terms of avoiding anachronistic juxtapositions but running a Big Boy next to auto racks and container trains causes the temporal disturbance police to issue me citations in my head. Anyway, I really enjoy your enthusiasm for this insane hobby. Thank god for finished basements and affordable home ownership. Detroit 3 Railer meets and Norm C's layout are very impressive indeed. Looking forward to watching you hone your new layout. Bravo Zulu.

You can't beat K-line, a 1/4 of my stuff is later K-line. Their Cruise Control once they got it working correctly was great. Too bad they did not make it. What are you using as the base under your track?

Those are beautiful cars, and I just bought a MTH Premier Dreyfuss Hudson and am looking for cars to go with it. Two questions though, Are those prototypical for diesel and are they true O Scale or 0-27? Thank you again those are beautiful cars!!

I’m curious How many engines and rolling stock do you have? I only have 24 engines and around 400 cars. I’m guessing you have 78 engines and 1,057 cars.

I have kline pennsy cars and they are beautiful and high quality. A lot of kline stuff on eBay and the passenger and freight cars are the best. Engines not so great.
