Front facing camera looks weird because it focuses on the object closest: your nose. But if you do a backfacing selfie and zoom in the camera and step back a bit so your face can fill it in perfectly, you’ll look better

Go to portrait mode and do exactly as he says, then take your photo to Lightroom Turn it b/w And turn down the vignette And make the "blacks" in Light section to be darker You should have a similar result provided that you're indoors like him, and have light coming on to your face rather than from behind
