I visited a big bookshop recently here in Hamburg, Germany and they had an entire wall full of the newest popular greek myth retellings and topic related non fiction books. Your book was right at the center of it and looking gorgeous. I got really excited for you 🥰

I am happy to be reminded that the Rarebirds bookshop is right here in Edinburgh, doing its thing, being awesome, because yesterday a customer at the library I work at was affronted by the fact that every other book in the library was written by a woman, and I've been fuming about it ever since

I loved this Vlog Jean !! Thank you so much for taking us along on your day in Edinburgh with your friends. It has been my lifelong dream to visit Scotland, Edinburgh in particular. It's like the whole city and the shops are in full technicolor. Sadly with all that's going on in the world, I don't think my dream of visiting will come true. I'm so happy you took a break from the stress of finishing your PHD and all the politics of the closing of the department at your University..It's really a heartbreaking situation on so many levels. I admire the way you're making everyone aware of the situation. It's so wonderful that you have a group of such supportive friends . I'm in awe of how you've all been there for each other through the stressful situations you've all been experiencing lately. One thing I've learned in my 68 yrs on this planet, is that friends are your "chosen family" Thanks again for your lovely posts of Edinburgh on Instagram and for this Vlog. Dang, I really want to go back to Edinburgh now!!!! Although I don't think I could be trusted to keep my book purchases light enough to meet carry on bag flight requirements. Alas. Love the fossil shop! The only problem with watching a video like this is it makes me want to go to a bookstore. Lol. I'm currently on a book shop restriction until my birthday in August because I know I have no self control when I'm in the stores. I'm only allowing myself to pre-order a few books online right now. Maybe I'll go to my library this weekend so I get that book browsing feeling without spending money. Lol

I honestly couldn't say but there are at least 3 unis in the city so it's worth looking into them. Edinburgh uni is the biggest but there is also Heriot Watt!

@@JeansThoughts Did some research and the University of Edinburgh has cooperated with the research group where I'm doing my master's. Chances are I'm moving to Edinburgh in the near future!
