Car model is 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Loredo. Base Model with no back up camera and basic 5 inch Uconnect radio.
I installed a 2015 vp4 8.4 inch Uconnect Radio. I bought it used from ebay from a junkyard/salvage yard seller. I then paid another ebay seller that give you anti theft codes with your radio serial number. I didnt go to the dealership. Did it all at home. Depending on the model you get, you might need to purchase a 911 phone dummy. It tricks the system to thinking you have it even though your car was not already equipped with it.
After you have installed your new upgraded unit and have entered anti theft code you should wait with the car on for about 5-10 mins. After that turn off your car for about 30min to hour. Go take a break. While the car is off the Radio will communicate with the cars computer and do its technical stuff in the back ground. I believe its called proxy pairing.
When purchasing the anti theft code from ebay make sure the seller gives you examples of what Serial number they work with. Not all work with the same Serial number you have. So just be mindful of that. Some will give you examples of what they can work with similar to the one i bought from. Also helps if they high feedback and sales.
