Jeep Gladiator Mopar Lift Install // 2 Inch Lift Isn't Really A 2 Inch Lift

In this one I install a Mopar 2 inch lift on a 2020 Jeep Gladiator JT!! This lift from Mopar includes coils, Fox shocks, front lower control arms, and bump stop extensions. The description says 2 inches, but it definitely wasn't exactly 2 inches. This lift isn't very hard to install and could be a do it yourself project if you want to save several hundred dollars in labor costs.

I had a Gladiator Rubicon for a year. I really liked. Unfortunately with all the COVID and California’s ridiculous registration renewal fees and weight fees. I ended up trading it in on a car. I did install the Mopar lift kit on the truck. For me I thought the front was a little bit stiffer than stock in the front and the rear was a little soft for on road use. The rear seamed to have floaty feel. But off road it did well.

After installing the lift and driving the Glad to work (20+ miles) I received an service electronic stability control message on the dash, then a special NEW and separate check engine light just for the ESC! A little research said it was common for JL and JT that had a lift installed, and this caused the steering wheel to be slightly off center. In fact the steering wheel being off center was so slight I didn't notice it at all. Driving home the error had cleared and didn't come back on but I noticed the steering wheel off center. I adjusted the drag link and now the steering wheel is very close to center. Waiting for the next code!

Interesting. After this installation there have never been any lights or codes and the steering wheel is straight. An alignment is always a good idea after installing a lift. If nothing else, to verify that things are correct.

@@offroadhub.official A friend of mine has a 2020 JT. He did the 2" Mopar then went back and added a 3/4" spacer on the front. I skipped doing 2 steps and did it all in 1 step. Added the lift and 3/4 spacer at the same time. I'm thinking this may be why the steering wheel was just far enough out to throw the code, especially after reading your response.

I just installed the Mopar lift w/ bilstein reservoir shocks on my 22 diesel JLU. Both front springs are bowing inward. Touching the frame. Something is either wrong with the spring or the amazing directions from Mopar … even installed an adjustable track bar. Same shit

The front lower control arms are easy. After installing your lift kit Install the wheels and put the jeep on the ground on its own weight. First remove the old control arm on one side only. Install the new control arm to the frame first then have someone roll the wheel forward or backwards until you align the bolt. Then repeat on the next side. I used this method to install my lower drop bracket. Remember one side at a time.

That's a good question. I have to defer to FCA on that one. They sell this kit, which maintains your factory warranty, without an adjustable track bar. So the difference that it makes to the axles being centered must be negligible.

@@KnightsGarage you can do some math to figure out how much it will shift the axle over. Too hot to go out and measure right now but I’ll give you an example. If the track bar drops 6” from frame and the axle mount is 40” away parallel to the ground then the bar will be 40.5” long. Drop that 2” and the track bar will shift in 0.35”. It’s not exact cause I am assuming the geometry but it’s not going to be much more or less my friend. Of course a longer bar will have less and a shorter bar relative to my guesstimate will have more. . For sticklers it matters, but as already pointed out, for vehicle performance and safety it is validated by Jeep engineers so you can rest assured that it will have no issues. . In January of 2024 this lift is $1899, that’s $400 more than you guys paid 3 years ago. Since the fed told us inflation was transitory I’m sure it will come down

If it's a JL, probably. They made it pretty easy to fit 37's.
