Rock crawling my 2020 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon at Kansas Rocks. This is the Red & Yellow trail exit from Carnage Canyon and was shot during the 2021 Frostbite event at Kansas Rocks. I figured since I have 35s I can go anywhere, but I was wrong. I have the stock Jeep Rubicon suspension (so no lift). My engine burned some oil because I was doing something told my wife I wouldn't do. The video was shot by my 8-year-old son because nobody else could. I had just installed Artec belly pan aluminum skids. Obviously, I need a winch. But according to tradition I need to buy a lightbar first. If I had a 2" lift I might have made it.

Hi, Friend. Nice video and go for a winch. Another question, I wonder if do you have a video about how you installed the clamp onto the bed-side with tonneau-cover-ez. Thanks

I'm working on that right now. I'll have that video wrapped up in a few weeks after I get more footage. But I trimmed the foam padding under the tonneau cover rails and the brackets bolt to my bed rail system.

Cool, add a 2" lift and you'll not need the winch, add a 3 1/2 inch lift and some 37's and your gladiator would be awesome

A month later and I need a winch and lockers, and I probably shouldn't have a opinion

@@Berserkeroffroad well rear locker's to help me climb hill's at KS Rock's, winch because apparently I will always be there alone, as for not giving advice, I have only owned my Jeep for 6 months, and I'm still not even sure how high my lift is, bought it second hand, I'm thinking I shouldn't give people the impression that I even know what I'm talking about. I'm sure you know exactly what you're gladiator needs. Besides I about messed up last Saturday, muddy as hell and tried climbing a blue hill that was pretty steep and my tires were packed in mud and halfway up I lost traction and did a 180, freaked me out some.

@@sumdumguy7197 I wouldn't worry so much what others think of you and your Jeep- most of them don't know any better anyway. Mud is an equalizer and requires an exponential increase in either equipment or skinny pedal to make it vs dry (but yes, lockers do help!). Let's go wheeling some time.

@@Berserkeroffroad thoughts created by a old video of yours, my Jeep still has 3.21 gears and gets 15 mpg on avg, was thinking about 3.73 or 4.10 gear swap for a better power curve with my 315/70r17 tires, called 35's but actually measure just under 34, but 4×4 land says I need 4.56 or 4.88, which to my mind would be great for rock crawling but I think it would kill my gas mileage, curious what you think on the matter

Because it was a cool obstacle and I think it's hilarious how my 8-year-old son attempted to film it.
