Special thank to our Patrons for their support of the channel! Would you take this Grand Cherokee Trailhawk over a 4Runner TRD PRO?

I even bought a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee over the 4 runner. More powerful engine, 8 speed ZF transmission (vs 5 speed), much better fuel economy, better tech, more features, air suspension w/ better ground clearance - what's not to like? Toyota has an anecdotal reliability reputation but based on what I have seen and experienced so far the Pentastar V6, the ZF transmission, 4 wheel drive systems, and the Uconnect 4 electronics are pretty bulletproof.

4Runner towing 5,000 pounds. V6 Grand Cherokee 6,200 pounds, V8 7,200 pounds. I'll take this every day over the 4Runner as I want to tow a 5,000-6,000 travel trailer. I think the simplest description I heard for this - An American Range Rover. Now. Do I need the V8. Still can't decide. I want it. But do I need it ? I learned off-roading with 10 years in a Toyota FJ cruiser. But with this, I hardly need any skills, beyond pushing a button or three.

Would I take this over a 4 Runner....All Day Long I would! In fact, I just did!

So interesting I was just thinking about this earlier today. I saw a beautiful full white 4Runner TRD looked custom lifted 3-4" and I thought how cool it would be to own both (I have the 2024 Trailhawk).

I love my Grand Cherokees I’ve had 2 v8 grands. This version seems awesome too. The only thing I would say the 4Runners could currently have over the Grand is the color options. Some of Toyotas colors are awesome. An acquaintance of mine just got the Lime/Elcectric Green TRD Pro and it’s sooo sweet!

Got to do the Outback Wilderness next.

Its incredible how much better these look on 35 inch tiers.

After seeing several off road videos, the GC Trailhawk is way more off road capable and better looking than a 4Runner! So yes, I would take this GC Trailhawk over a 4Runner TRD Pro. But, the 4Runner might create some stiff competition for the Trailhawk when the 4th Gen 4Runner comes out in 2024.

You said you had the rear diif lock on, how do you turn it on?

A hunnit percent Jeep > 4runner.

Not a fan of the front end at all. Other than that, it's a nice vehicle.

18" wheels. All you need to do is look at the tire size. For 2023 jeep is only offering trailhawk trim in the hybrid system. No more 3.6 or 5.7
