In my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe review, I'll give you a full tour of this electrified plug-in hybrid Jeep. My test model here is the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Trailhawk which this is the more off-road focused one. Now, all Grand Cherokee 2022 model years have received a significant upgrade becoming more luxurious than ever. It has a bunch of new modern tech and an interior that's very well crafted from high-quality materials.
That said, Jeep has promised to offer an electrified version of each model in its lineup. The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe will offer you 26 miles of electric range on a full charge while giving you V8 horsepower and torque. The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Trailhawk that I tested here maintains all of its off-road capabilities - however, the price tag on one of these can get pretty expensive. I just bought the same one and I bought it because it supposedly gave 56 miles per gallon combined with electricity and I'm only getting 23 miles per gallon, I really don't understand if I'm doing something wrong

@nicanor honrado look up how they calculate MPGe. I forgot how it's done, but it's not as straightforward as MPG for a gas car, especially when there is gas and electric to figure out together.

That’s not true you get the same performance once the battery is “depleted.” It’s like any other hybrid, where the engine has ICE electricity generators to directly power the motors not from the battery. The idea is the battery gives you plug in range as well.

I just don't understand why there isn't a massive inverter in the rear. My hybrid highlander has a 1500w plug in the rear and I can use the battery to run a camp.

Great video! Just traded in my Wrangler 4xe for this GC trailhawk. I love it to bits but I have a short commute Monday- Friday which gets me there on electric. For road trips up north I love having gas and not stopping to charge. I previously had an SRT, do I miss the v8? Yes, but not enough to pay that gas bill and maintenance fees again 😂

Thanks for another great review! Do you think it’s worth the price or value compared to other SUVs of this size? This tops out at nearly the same price as a fully loaded Volvo XC90 Recharge? I think the one you reviewed has an MSRP well above 70k.

Great review but I have one question. Can it tow a boat and trailer combination of 3400 pounds plus passengers when the battery is depleted? Do you know how much torque it has without the battery? We won't be towing the boat because we live on the water, but if we do it will be "local" trips of under 50 to 75 miles (if that). Thanks in advance.

On other reviews at least for the 2023 versions I believe it said it has a 6K towing capacity. Worth double checking me n that though.

That’s what it gets on average when the battery has run out using mostly the gas engine. It’s only 56 when your including the power from the electric engine. Are you on hybrid mode or e save mode usually?

This is pretty expensive, however it does qualify for the EV tax credits and depending on where you live it could end up being cheaper than a gas version. In my state the one I was looking at ended up being like $50 less :) If you lease, the tax credits are taken out of the lease price, but if you buy/finance then you're on your own to get the credits back from uncle sam

What are you going to do if you run out of gas in the wilderness also? It’s same thing! If you say someone can bring you a jug of gas to you, well someone can also bring you a generator to charge also!

Won't this also run on just gas so if you run out of electricity won't it just switch to gas mode and be like a regular gas vehicle?🤔

Why do you say that the V8 has more capability, when, by your own statement this hybrid has more horse power than that? And, you're against the 4xe because you're afraid to run out of battery on the trail? You obviously have no clue how a plug-in hybrid works.

Its enough for very local driving or full electric for some off roading, it has the other benefit of just giving the vehicle a lot more power even if you're not using it for mileage exclusively.
