Installed front red poly bump stops easily on my JK using this trick I made up. 1) Jack car up from frame so you get full stretch on spring, place jack stands under frame 2) grease new bumpstop exterior and inside bumpstop hole 3) slide/wedge new bumpstop into spring cavity (may need to use crowbar to spread spring a bit but it will slide in). 4) Here’s the trick (I tried all sorts of other ways using blocks etc and this is the only thing that worked 1st try) Get an oil filter wrench cup (the kind with spreadable tongs works too) that fits over lower end of bumpstop. Fit a socket extension into the oil wrench square hole .. choose extension length that just fits lengthwise to rest on spring seat base. Jack up axle so socket extension (and oil wrench cup) press up into bumpstop as you jack up into place and fully seated. Works like a charm first time.

I did my rear bump stops and got them in with some grease and a pry bar. And now that I saw your video I'm going to do the front ones. But I think I'm going to install the OEM bump stops since they are shorter and softer than the polys. I had to cut the rear ones cause the ride was just too hard. Thanks for the video.

Currently ordered a set my Jeep and was hoping I wouldn't need to take the coil springs out. Nice to see I don't have too. But I would recommend not using WD-40 as it breaks down polyurethane and rubber.

I did my front and rears. (Rear are super easy.) front was easier than describe here as long as you lube up the stop and cylinder, I used vegetable oil. Popped right in.

I got a quote of $125 from the Jeep dealer to replace the bump stops on my 2012 Wrangler. It didn't look it would be difficult to replace. I mean... I just had to stick the darn rubber stop in the spring, right??? So off to KZfaq I went and found your video straight away. Thank you so much for the great video! I've been at it for four hours, almost there just needs to straighten out... and then the bump stop fell out. No wonder the previous owner never replaced the bump stops for years it looks like. Why would someone want to abuse themselves like that?

I used explosives (shaped charge) to get mine in!

Just did the rear. So easy, oil up bump stop, oil the metal where it goes where bump stop meets metal, push up one side, once that is in, push up the other side. So easy

Actually you don't have to take the tires off. Just Jack it up with a farm jack and when the springs separate you have enough room to put your hand in there and pop it in place. I replace both front in less than 5 minutes.

Are they longer than the originals? My 35" rubs on the fender at full flex

Those rugged ridge are garbage. Only use "Energy" polyurethane components on your jeep.
