OMG!! I am so happy to have made this video for you guys I’ve had so many people ask me this question I finally had this problem happened to me.
#Jeep #Jeepnation #theclayway #howto #jeeplove #jeepheatercore #jeeplife #jeepwave #jeepfreaks #Jeepliberty #Jeepfamily #possiblereasons
So what was going on was I had a 2009 Jeep liberty and it only had heat on the passenger side no heat coming out the driver side at all it was actually cold to me. I thought it was the blender door motor and I disassembled all of that but it turned out it wasn’t bad at all it ended up being the heater core is kind of like a square and coolant was only traveling through half of the square ( I couldn’t really think of a better analogy) so we ended up removing the heater hoses and flushing it with CLR (I can’t promise that this won’t damage something else if you do not flush out the CLR are real well!!!!!! Not that I making any promises anyways but you can check back with me and ask how it went) i’m pretty certain this should not damage anything but I got to be safe and let you know.
So before flushing it with the CLR I checked the output it was still only about 140° after flushing it with the CLR I got 170 on the driver side and almost 200 on the passenger side I didn’t even think it was plugged on the passenger side but apparently fluid wasn’t flowing through it very well at all and I figured even if I damage the heater core it needed to be replaced before I did The Flush anyways so I figured I would try it and it worked like a champ!!! Hopefully the videos helpful and keeps you warm during the winter have a great day god bless!!
You should watch the whole video .(sometimes I’m fun) So you can inform yourself with all the great information that I put in my videos and God bless. I hope the videos helpful for you!

I just used this method on my 2008 Jeep Liberty 3.7L and it worked great! There was absolutely no heat on my drivers side and now its full force. This video, literally, saved me over an estimated 1k at the dealership. No need for the dash to get pulled anymore. Thanks for the video!

Did you use the CLR also or just blow out with air compressor?
@thisendup86
@thisendup86 3 жыл бұрын
@@melanietylerdavis3030 I bought the CLR concentrate and mixed it 50/50 per the directions. I used a a 16oz water bottle to mix it and poured it into a 5/8inch tube that I got from the hardware store. I used a small bread loaf pan (because it fit well) inter both the inlet and outlet to catch the CLR from gettin onto engine components after the heater box filled up with it. (I used all 16 oz. Even though it started coming out at about 13oz.) I let it sit for 5 mins. (The bottle recommended 2 but I did 5). Then i rinsed the CLR out with another 3ft. of 5/8in tube that I hooked up to a water nozzle and flushed out the CLR, slowly, and caught it all in the pan that I had to empty multiple time to prevent it from getting on engine components. After all the CLR was flushed out I kept flushing it with water, switching from left to right every once in a while, for about 10 mins just to make sure all the CLR was out. Afyer that i blew it out again with air at a low psi to get the water out and filled it, using the rinsed out 5/8inch tube, with coolant. Hooked the hoses back up, ran it and it worked flawlessly. I hope that helps a bit. Anymore questions, feel free to ask.

Yes!!! This fixed my problem. Thanks so much for the video. 2011 Jeep Liberty. Zero heat on driver side. Both cabin air filters were absolutely packed full of dirt but I replaced those and it didn’t fix my problem. But flushing the heater core fixed it 100%. I flushed with air then poured in just a smidge of CLR and let it sit for a couple minutes. Added water then blew it out and added water a couple more times to get all the clr out. Not sure if I needed the clr or not but it worked! I bet many people’s will be fixed with just a thorough air and water flush a few times

Dude! You're the best! 2010 Liberty with the same problem. Tried your solution and it worked great. Only thing I did a little different was when I hooked up the garden hose, I used an old piece with the end still on it. So after I blew everything out and flushed the CLR a couple times, I hooked a garden hose to it and ran it for several minutes. Made sure I ran it backwards from the normal flow so it would hopefully clear any remaining junk. Anyway, heat works much better now! Thanks!

James I greatly appreciate you sending this message Man people like you are the reason that I do this. Here on the mechanical channels we don’t make the kind of money these people who put on make up and act like retards do. (I will however say they are worth watching because sometimes they’re very funny) Unfortunately most people want to see Auto Repair and not Clay comedy (PS I’ve tried it did not work lol) anyways I’m very happy to hear about your vehicle keep in mind that it may not last and you may have to do that heater core in the future but at least we’re keeping you warm today God bless and have the greatest days brother!!

By far works amazing, the problem is that orange antifreeze is bad about clogging the heater cores, I would recommend switching to green, and make sure to flush the crap out of the heater core with water if that stuff is bad enough to eat whatever is clogged it will eat the seals and gaskets. Thanks man this saved me a lot of time

We just performed the CLR treatment and flush to our 2011 Jeep Liberty single zone climate control system. The driver side temperature went from nearly the same as the outside temperature to being evenly hot with the passenger side. The system puts out the kind of heat that it should. I didn't have a thermometer to test it, but it sure seems like it's going to work like a champ. Great info and thank you so much!.

🤔. Then I think it’s a possibility that your blend air door is not opening correctly. Try switching it from hot to cold and see if you hear the door moving you should be able to hear the air change and fill a difference in the temperature of the air coming out of the vents

Cabin air filter? Possible blender door actuator if you have dual climate zone. And of course stuff from the engine could’ve plugged up your new heater core but the good thing is it’s new so you should be able to blow it out the opposite direction to get the blockage out of the heater core

@sharpcarco
@sharpcarco 5 жыл бұрын
They do certainly recommend only 10 pounds of pressure. But I figured if it was already bad it really didn’t matter anyways I would rather blow out before I sell it to someone else. CLR is extremely corrosive but it didn’t say anything about it coming in contact with aluminum or rubber on the back of the bottle so I think it’ll be OK and no I don’t know of anything else that might work as well. I literally just did this today so I will have to give it a couple weeks and see what happens but my thought was the heater core was plugged and would have to be changed if this did not work so if it happens to someone in the near future that I sell it to I’ll just replace it for free for them. And I’m going to make a better video than the one that I seen on the Internet that a guy made he tore the whole interior of the liberty apart and I don’t think it was quite that necessary to do that much work I’d be willing to bet that I can change the heater core in about four hours.
