Whats up man. My family has been in the Jeep life my whole life. 6 months ago I bought a 12 JKUR. Just ordered my lift tonight. Started poking around and found you! Appreciate all the mods. I need those rock lights. New subscriber here. Happy Jeeping man.

Hey Chris! Thanks for the support! As you know, Jeeps are super fun! So enjoy it. It’s easier for me to chat with people via the Instagram page. So message me over there if you have any questions. Not saying I’ll know the answer to them all, but if I don’t I will know someone who does! Thanks for the support!

Wouldn’t say every Jeep owner needs all of the things you mentioned, but you made some great points, and I pretty much agree with almost everything you mentioned. Only one I absolutely don’t agree with, is the hi-lift jack. Nobody needs one of those. Been 4 years now and I’ve never seen a single one actually used. Number one absolute most useless thing that everybody thinks is super cool. Other than that, good points on everything else.
@WarPaintOffroad

Thanks for the support! But Wow! I completely disagree. I have used mine a bunch of times in the last couple years alone. I have reset springs that people have lost, I have broken beads on tires, lifted my vehicle with it, and used it to push the vehicle over on a trail to get it off of a rock when it’s in a tight spot. I agree, so many rigs don’t actually use them and bolt them on because they think they look cool. But they are a big advantage if you know how to use them.
@StormbornJKU

@@WarPaintOffroad then you’ve gotten more out of it then I’ve ever heard of lol I would feel confident in saying 99% of people that have a hi-lift have never used it, and probably don’t even know how to safely use it.

@WarPaintOffroad 2 жыл бұрын
@@StormbornJKU I definitely agree. That will be one of my next videos. I’ll be showing how to use it. It probably won’t be the very next video, but it is on my list. They are a very simple and fairly safe ( when used properly) jack to use for a low price point. Sure a bottle jack or a pro eagle is good. But those have major downsides that I’ll address in the video too. The hi lift is a simple/reliable tool to use for many situations. I’ll go over to common ones in the video.
@StormbornJKU
@StormbornJKU 2 жыл бұрын
@@WarPaintOffroad I’ve got a pro eagle and I’ve used it a thousand times in numerous situations and would take it over a hi-lift any day of the week. But I’ll for sure check out the video and see what you’ve got to say on it all. As always, I’ll continue to support.

@@StormbornJKU thanks for the continued support! It’s people like you that have made the channel possible and hopefully I can do some giveaways soon as a thank you! Of course I’m always open to all the criticism I can get. Constructive or otherwise (I promise you I have been called worse…hahaha). But the pro eagle is great. Just SUPER expensive compared to the other options. And you wouldn’t be able to use a pro eagle to break a bead on a wheel, or as a come-along. Granted those are rare situations. But when I can get a tool that does more for less I usually take that option. But a good old floor jack for lifting an axle definitely isn’t a bad thing! Especially if you have the pockets for one.

I recently got the JScan for my JLUR because I have factory LED system and changed my rear taillights with the Oracle flush mount and they gave me the dash warning of Turn Signals Lights not working. I still get the warning when I first crank the engine but not through out the driving, so JScan helped and with my tire pressure sensor range I lowered it. I also adjusted my tire size and that gave me a surprising pep in engine performance
@WarPaintOffroad
@WarPaintOffroad 2 жыл бұрын
Heck yea! I actually shut my TPMS off completely. I don’t run the sensors in my beadlocks. So rather than have the light I shut them off. I also shut off my running lights. I like the fact that you can also use it to raise the idle a bit when winching too. Pretty cool.

Sound system upgrades are easy on the jks, 6-1/2 front and rear + tweeters. I got the car audio bug and went all out with head unit, amps for bass and the other speakers, and even added boat tower speakers. I use kicker for everything and can’t complain a bit about it.

New subscriber, had my 17 Sahara jk for 2 weeks and there are 1000’s of things I want mod on er’. My question for you sir … the kicker speaker upgrade, was it the 77kick10 package? And if so did it fit in your sound bar? I have the alpine package in mine, and I hear different opinions on if they fit the Sahara or not. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Great video bro look forward to more of those from you.

So you can fit a 6.5 round speaker in the sound bar. Tbh, I can’t remember what speaker pack it was. But I just bought 6.5 round speakers. I stuff them with a little poly fill. And put them in. I did have to drill new holes…but the openings for the speaker itself was large enough.

If you're not wheeling skip the winch and jack. It should have been mentioned a hi-lift jack can only be used with proper bumpers or rock rails. Using it with regular bumpers will damage them and can be very dangerous. Not that I haven't seen people with stock bumpers and no rock rails carrying a hi-lift on their rig. If you have a mall crawler a regular scissor jack will work lifting at the axle, most the time. It you do have large enough tires that it doesn't I'd suggest a hydraulic bottle jack with extending ram. I carry that in my truck because the stock jack is too short. You can even get them with built in jack stands... Which is the kind I have. A bit larger than a regular one but much safer with a wider footprint. I'm all for the JSan for anybody. I love it. Very useful and far cheaper than others like the Flashcal.
@WarPaintOffroad
@WarPaintOffroad Жыл бұрын
For sure. Everything you said I completely agree with. I have done other video’s on the hi lift. Anyone that does any sort of modification to their vehicle need to do the research and understand what they are getting into. And like you said people with stock bumpers and no rock sliders aren’t putting hi lift jacks on their rigs. And if they are…they aren’t using them. At the same time, a hi lift can be used as a winch and even to push a vehicle off a rock…lots of uses other than just lifting…

@@WarPaintOffroad I agree. I have a Hi-Lift on both of my rigs. They are extremely useful.... If you know how to use it. Sadly I do think many buy them not knowing a thing about them. A guy at work asked me about mine and said he wanted one. My first question was what kind of bumpers he had. They were stock so I have to explain what else he would need to make it work for him as a jack. Jeeps are good about that. Oh, your want that....ok, just do these other three things first. Now you're ready. It was a nicely done video.

Why a Sector Shaft Brace is not mentioned is beyond me.
@WarPaintOffroad
@WarPaintOffroad 13 күн бұрын
Because a sector shaft brace isn’t as necessary that the makers of them would make you think. The sector shaft is only good if you go to a 37 or larger tire and don’t have hydro assist. Once’s you have hydro assist all the pressure is taken off the drag link and steering box and placed directly in the tie rod from the ram. If you have a large enough tires to where you are stressing and maybe breaking your sector shaft…there are other upgrades that should have happened.

I have a question about my jk. My jeep steering is very touchie when I caret myself when running into another lane. Would you know why it does that?
@WarPaintOffroad
@WarPaintOffroad 2 жыл бұрын
Yes sir! If you have a lifted jeep, you might not have the drag link and track bar aligned with each other. They should be parallel to each other (not the ground). If they are, then your issue is more than likely an alignment deal. Go watch my alignment videos (part 1 and 2) and it will show you what happens when you lift a vehicle. It will throw the alignment off. There are only a couple ways to fix it. So it’s hard to say the exact cause without seeing it. But that will probably put you on the right track. Again though, without seeing it it’s hard to know. So be careful until you get it sorted and of course bring it to a professional of you can’t figure it out.

@@WarPaintOffroad thanks man. By the way, it's lifted and I bought it used and the car lot had it realidned because it traveled side to side when I first got it. It was out of alignment just a little bit from what the guy told me.
@WarPaintOffroad
@WarPaintOffroad 2 жыл бұрын
@@jk_wrangler13 so if it’s drifting all over…that’s a caster angle issue..typically. My part 2 alignment video talks about that. If it’s doing it when you hit bumps, but is otherwise fairly steady, then that is a track bar and drag link issue. Get over and follow me on Instagram. Easier to talk there through messages and send photos back and forth. We will get it sorted! 👍🏻

My winch is a Zeak 12000 lb and beat the badlands in an extensive multi big name winch comparison.. the high lift jacks are awsom but are leathal. I run a set of Fire stix in flat plane side ny side. My jeep is an 87 comanchee metric ton dana 44 rear axle 4.0 inline 4 1/2 inch lift with 33 Maxis . Built to just get up n down the mountain on our property to go to the village down in the valley for feed n stuff. Not a rock climber. Just daily utility. Goal is to suceed my trail and daily ranch work. Plus plowing etc. Not interesting in getting in line with a bunch of town boys looking like line dancers. Our rock climbing is just the trail and snow. Not for show. Just living the ranch life in the highlands. I hate crowds. That silly shit would just be imbarassing.We',re working.
