Is airbag light ON on your Jeep Patriot? Worried about airbags not deploying if necessary? Make sure to first check the airbag fuses as that is something anybody can do by themselves and it is the cheapest and easiest to fix ( 2007 | 2008 | 2009 | 2010 | 2011 | 2012 | 2013 | 2014 | 2015 | 2016 | 2017 | 4WD | SPORT | LIMITED | NORTH EDITION).
Airbag fuses are located in the main fuse box under the front hood:
FUSE #27 & FUSE #28 - BOTH 10 Amp!
If these fuses are good, then you will have to connect higher end obd2 scanner to scan for any airbag codes stored in the system and based on that decide how to proceed. It could be a failed airbag sensor, loose connection somewhere or a wiring issue.
Airbag light should be fixed ASAP as it is important part of vehicle's safety in case of a crash.
