I thought I was the only one who lived in Groundhog Day… Brother you make me so comforted knowing that I’m not alone. There is actually people who screw up just as much as I do with the smallest things sometimes that go on unforeseen for what seem like lifetimes. Sometimes I just watch your video to make me smile and laugh at myself and get me out of my stupor. I don’t know if it works but it sure makes me feel something. I finally just worked on my jeep and did this whole thing that you did. The only thing I’m waiting on doing is adding the new fluid. I think I might have one leg up on the situation only because I bought a brand new filler neck and I didn’t cost $45,000 just $45… That means it won’t leak. Although I’m a little nervous but as soon as I go buy a slender funnel tomorrow I’m going to finish it. Can’t wait.

good step by step video ....reasons for pan leaks #1: deformed pan by previous owner or shop due to incorrect or excessive tightening (maybe impact tools )#2:use of sealants that dry to fast given no time for the pan bolts to be tightened ...or 3: a poor quality gsket ( rarely) ..

I had a pretty good idea from the beginning it wasn’t the pan leaking lol. First off the leak came fast & hard, not something you usually see from a leaking gasket like this, especially several times in a row using a gasket sealer. Next to that, your biggest clue was it was happening too fast. For the pan to leak, you would have had to put in at least 2 quarts to get enough oil in the pan to reach the seam to start leaking anyways. But hey, thankfully you figured it out before you lit the damn thing on fire in a fit of rage lol.

@miket.22010 ай бұрын
If you take your cvt jeep to a mechanic , they will only change the fluid. Even the dealer will only change the pan screen filter if they find metal shavings. NO ONE will change the upper paper filter. Unfortunately that upper paper filter is VERY IMPORTANT to change. Even if nothing else was done here, JUST changing the upper filter would make a big difference in transmission operation, even with dirty fluid. The fluid will not cool or flow properly if that paper filter is clogged.
