I thought when I put my Adams shaft in you reused that o-ring? Mine's in for many years so maybe it changed. Thanks for all of the great videos. Top Fan!

Thanks for the video as always! I watched yours and a few others’ on the Jk after market driveshaft, one thing I hope you can enlighten me by any chance. I noticed that for the yoke, some are u joint type yoke, some are flange type yoke, some are on the axle side, some are on the T case side. Is there any particular reason to use what type of yokes? Any pros and cons for both?

So in this case, the owner wanted to swap out the factory rzeppa joints for a yoke style joint. The rzeppa still CV is fine in a stock application. It's when you install a large lift that exposes its weakness. Large lifts cause more extreme driveshaft angles which the factory shafts can't handle for long. Going to a U joint/yoke style is stronger for that application and can tolerate larger angles when used with a double cardan shaft.

Hey! Thanks for putting out these videos. About to start my driveshaft replacement after I finish my 3.5 Gamechanger. Question: what size Two jaw puller are you using? I don’t have one yet, but feel like I’m probably going to need one to pull those flanges off.

I honestly don't even know, that tool is over 30 years old!

@@TheBFHGarage Haha no problem! Thanks for replying. Don't know how comfortable I feel banging on a flange with those splines there. Guess it's good to go with the 6" 5 Ton instead of the 3" 2 Ton puller.

Pinion angle on a double cardon 1350 JKU drveshaft. In one of your videos on double the cardon driveshaft, you mention that you look for close to zero pinion angle at the pinion. How does that affect the u-joint cup and their ability to rotate and with no angle? Will the needle bearings get worn sooner from lack of rotation?
@TheBFHGarage
@TheBFHGarage 10 ай бұрын
When using a double cardan shaft, the pinion angle needs to be very close to zero otherwise it will induce driveline vibrations. The caps and needle bearings don't care.

So with that information, I can conclude that worn out Rock Krawler control arm bushings would cause a decel only vibration because the pinion angle drops? @@TheBFHGarage

My weighted pinion angle is 89.1 degrees relative to the differential?
@TheBFHGarage
@TheBFHGarage 10 ай бұрын
@@MrRoadking8468 is that a question or a statement? You'll hear some people say 1 degree low, others have different opinions. The bottom line is to adjust it until you don't have driveline vibrations.
@TheBFHGarage
@TheBFHGarage 10 ай бұрын
@@MrRoadking8468 it certainly could be a factor. It could also be a differential issue. Rule things out.
