Great Video. I bought a sony 3250 for my 2000 as I also wanted to avoid cutting the dash. One question though. As my unit comes with a rear USB port, I has wondering whether I could mount a USB socket on the flat cover that comes with the kit. Anyway, the "pocket" one is rather useless as you point out. Is the clearance behind the cover enough to seat the socket and route the cable?

I think so, but the kit came with flat covers too, which you would use instead of the pocket to mount your buttons

can the stock ashtray be used with the new dash bezel?

I don’t believe so

Wow. That is horrible. I'll stick with the normal dash with the 1Din radio. sigh

Huh? Clean easy install no cutting and looks great. What don’t you like?

@@v8only Can't tell if you are serious. :-)

@@garyh4458 obviously you’re not serious. For the life of me i can’t figure why you would want a junk/ugly single din over an apple CarPlay setup.

@@v8only Mainly because I have had my 98 TJ since the day I bought new in 1997 and with the single DIN I still have the quality bezel that came with the Jeep. The radio I have plays what I need. I use my ashtray to hide things. I have had two nice stereos stolen from my Jeep. I don't really want anything nice that will get stolen because I don't bother to lock it anymore. And finally, no offense, but that bezel looks like cheap Chinese garbage and I imagine that radio is as well. If someone comes out with a quality bezel and quality radio that fits well I might be sold.

@@garyh4458 its a solid middle of the line Sony radio. Looks just fine in person. I do worry about theft though
