this may come through twice as i already made a comment and i dont see it. i'm a professional tranny builder with 40 years on the bench and have worked at all the big places on the east coast. i was having problems figuring this unit out and for the first time ever i went to utube for help. your videos helped me in a big way. this unit is a breeze now. mine had no second as i;m tols they all fail in this or no reverse. if i can ever lend a hand to you just contact me. i've spent decades repairing these things with great success over the years and i'm very impressed with your presentation. it was easy to follow and got me through a disassemble issue quickly. kepp it up. you are just helping the home mechanics some times the pros need a little help. by the way i saw you leaving the rings out there but we all do that on occasion. your attitude is perfect about it. keep showing the little things you missed it tells guys that its ok as long as you catch it be its in the car. lol. thanx mike

I've been looking at doing a V8 swap in a mkI focus, but the aftermarket kits are only for the 302 mated with the t5 tranny. I was hoping i could squeeze a t56 in there but I'm not sure if it could fit. I just know most ppl say the HP limits of those 302's are around 500hp but the t5 is only specd at 300 ft lbs. Whereas the t56 is specd at 700 ft lbs. I'm sure if your 302 is pushing 500 horses, your torque would easily be in the 400's. So I'm considering my options.
@v8onlyАй бұрын
@@StanMaineman what kills a t5 is sudden impact. Launching on slicks, aggressive clutches, and no lift power shifting. I ran a t5 in my 66 mustang that was doing 335 to the wheels and it’s holding up fine. A lot chassis also helps a ton. There are other choices. Gforce offers a 500 and 600 ft lb gearset that drops right into the t5. Amp distributing has also introduced a lower cost option. A 450 hp gearset that will drop right onto a t5 case. I had the fortune of building And treating the first set. I put a few hundred miles on it Before I sold The car. (Its now waiting for Future project). The tkx is the best option if you have money

You have to measure from the input shaft, not the output shaft, the driveshaft is a slip yolk, so you have leeway in the rear. So the front is the fixed measurement.

What’s it doing? Is the fuel pump priming? Very hard to say from just limited information. The red wire with the green stripe is critical. That supplies power to the ECU relay. Make sure you have the ground wire at the computer grounded out, the green wire off the field injector harness grounded out to the bell housing, and I believe there’s one more ground upfront near where the battery would go on a fox body. The steady power comes from the wires that had a terminal that just goes on the positive side of the relay.

I’m contemplating this, but if I’m thinking correctly, wouldn’t having the upper side (return assist) of the clutch spring, end up making the clutch pedal DRAG/SLIP itself, if the clutch hydraulics go OUT? I’m thinking the same exact thing would happen, since I currently have a (DIY) clutch return spring rigged, on top of the factory clutch assist spring. So, if the hydraulics ever went out for the clutch master and/or slave cylinder, having the clutch pedal pulled back UP, would make the clutch try to engage, thereby causing it to slip/drag..?
@v8only3 ай бұрын
If the hydraulics go out then the clutch pedal won’t have any effect on the clutch.
