thank you for vid. I've had water on floor a few times and could not figure out why, normally Jeep is parked inside and not driven in the rain, could not figure out wy there was water on floor, dealership said we needed a whole new seal for the hardtop witch has never been taken off, it's a 2004 with only 60,000 miles, only driven in Summer, never been off road, time to go do what you just said, thank you much, saved us ALOT of Money.

Glad the video was helpful. Hardtop seal? Even if the fix in the video doesn't fix the issue (which it should), I would still fold down the front window and check the seal at the base of that LONG before replacing a hardtop seal (that has never been off). Dealership is out of their mind. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Drive safe!

Great video and nicely edited… Thanks… After a heavy rain, I get quite a bit of water in my 2006 TJ... But only the passenger side front and back…I’ll see if this makes a difference.

That plastic drain is like a funnel it narrows and bends to the passenger side above the tranny. It is the black plastic box on mid firewall behind engine. You need to use a long compressed air blow gun to clean all the way through, or clean from the top or bottom with a very stiff wire. Just clearing the inlet of debris is not sufficient. You must clear entire passage top to outlet. Since the outlet is smaller than inlet, dirt and debris gathers near the bottom. It is also best to pull off hood to cowl rubber seal to make sure cowl gets behind it during reinstall. Install cowl, then firmly push rubber gasket back into place.

looks good and clean!

It actually took me by surprise. When I started filming the video, I expected to show what it looked like with debris inside. To my shock, it was perfectly clean. I guess I have just been lucky. That was the first time I had taken that cover off in 10 years. thanks for stopping by, Duke. Peace.

I hadn't thought of that before. Leaves do seem to get sucked down between the front window and hood. I'll take a look at the issue in a couple of days.

How can debrie get in there? It's not opened.

Nice. That was good info. Is there a filter on the inside of the jeep for the air?
@HNXMedia5 жыл бұрын
Yes, the cabin filter is on the inside behind the glove box (at least it is on this model). Thanks for the great question. I am glad you and Disney could stop by. Peace.

Can you show where the water is supposed to come out ?
@scottrussell9115 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video. But I have to comment on one of your comments that can be misleading. You stated that if the drain under the cowling is clean and clear, then you will never get water leaking from under your dash again. That is not entirely true. The drain on the ac can get clogged or backed up, and will cause water to also leak on the passenger floorboard.

My jeep is a 2011 should be the same fix?
@HNXMedia Жыл бұрын
It is certainly worth checking. Only takes a few minutes.

Check the seal around your windshield, especially of you have ever folded it forward. Just a suggestion.

What about the heater core?

What if it’s the driver side?
@HNXMedia10 ай бұрын
It could be the same thing, but I would also check the seal around the windshield. Disconnect your top and fold the windshield completely forward (flat onto the hood) and check the bottom seal to make sure it isn't dry rotted, cracked or split.

I hate to sound stupid....what year are we working on?
@HNXMedia Жыл бұрын
That is not a stupid question at all. The Jeep in the video is a 2003.

What if it is in the driver floor board?
@HNXMedia3 жыл бұрын
Should be the same issue, just more water backed up in this area. It typically flows to the passenger side first. If not, check for rusting or a worn seal around your windshield where it folds down. That can be the culprit as well. Hope this helps.
