On this Project we install the Zmoon 6" LED light bars that were sent to the channel for review. They are extremely bright LEDs consisting of both spot lights and Flood lights. They are installed in place of factory XJ fog lights. Remember, they are blinding shouldn't be used on road. #Jeep #XJ #ZMOON #Lightbar

OMG! Dan you rock! I have 99 XJ with fog lights and spent two hours today trying to figure out how to replace with LEDs. I watched this video twice and was sooo impressed with your ingenuity! Your idea to reverse OEM bracket was amazing. I have read that you couldn't use OEM wiring but you proved you can! So I'm gonna get some Zmoon's and try out. THANK YOU!!!!

I have a 99 Cherokee with rear fog light switch. My jeep didn’t seem to come with front fog lights however it looks that it has the wiring. Is there a way to disconnect the switch from running to the rear lights, and go to the front, so I can use it?

Hey great content!! I've ordered yesterday the factory fog lights set from way to much in comparison to the led ones, however, I need to have the mount brackets and also, want to test the waters with local policy as current regulations allows only for "factory installed fog lights" down here. Anyway, enjoyed your video, give me a couple of ideas to work on the XJ. Thanks and keep up the good work!

They should be ok, that's what fuses are for! lol. LEDS are great becase they draw less juice. if you blow fuses then you may want to rewire

They are few and far between on eBay.Uk . They were only found on European XJs. I can't sell my collection until my build is completed

For the switch bulb do you need to change both top bulb and bottom bulb to LED to prevent melting?

What do I do if I have the factory bezel without fog light switch? Can it still be used? I watched the other video after but it only shows replacing it with a 7 slot switch bezel not how to use that blank slot

I highly recommend buying a factory 3 switch bezel from eBay. Some XJs have a fog light plug just stuck into the back of the blank. You may be able to plug and play it with the exception of running the blue signal wire out of the switch to your own relay.. if you get a 3 hole switch bezel from the yard make sure you take a pig tail too. You'll need the connector and a couple inches of wire. Youll be able to tap into the other wires from the other switches to wire up your pigtail... black wire to ground, orange is illumination, purple is the power, then blue is signal to a relay. Maybe I'll just make a video. Lol

so far the wear and tear seams about they same. but they are definitely better than the first set. I have no issues with these whatsoever but I did have to replace the crew lights twice 👍🏻

Question, I have a 96 Xj, with rear fog lights but doesn't have front fog light, at least when I bought it. Did Jeep include the foglight harness/pigtail with the xj regardless if factory front foggers were included? I can't see the battery side, but below the ECU there is a pigtail that I have no idea what it's for. could that be for fog lights?

Jeeps without a factory fog lights may have the effective fog light pigtail hidden behind the area where the switch should be. Unfortunately do you save money by removing the fog light wiring through the engine bay and to the fuse box so if you try to plug in a factory fog light switch where it should be it wouldn't work. You would have to run your own wire harness to your own relay and tab into the factory switch to make it look as possible.

I made a custom switch panel back in the day (way before 3D printing). I had to hack saw 3 different bezels and plastic welded them together. I finished the face with Bondo and some paint 😁

You'll have to find an OEM fog equipped headlight harness.. it's easier to Cut em off and make your own connectors

@@ProjectDanH the harness i have came with male and female connectors. I dont seem to find the one that fits into the foglight connectiom. Will that work the way as oem connector ? I basic stripped the few xjs in my local junkard serval times but never cam across one thay had the harness. (Someone must of got them before me) cause i have seen a fee with the switch on bezle

Correction--T5 is too big! T4 fit's in the lower hole but I'm guessing I need a T3 for the upper one.

How can I bypass the fog light system and keep them on with my high beams?

easy. Go to the PDC (fuse box in engine bay) locate the fog light RELAY (there are 2, you'll want to pull the one in the middle) ... pull the RELAY. now look at the prongs , orient it vertically and hold it so the top 2 prongs are horizontal and the bottom 3 are vertical. Then just bend the vertical prong on the left back flush with the base of the relay so it can be re inserted into the fuse box.

It should, as long as you are just replacing your factory lights and not adding them to a ZJ that didnt have them.

Yes, it does. I wired my single 21 inch light bar to my fog light switch in my ZJ. It is wired to the passenger side fog light only for power. You may need a bigger fuse, depending on the light bar.

They were doing amazing until my wife crashed my XJ 🤣🤣🤣.. I got new lights to try in their place. But I did love them so I may go back if I can get a new pair

@@ProjectDanH Man you’re not even going to believe me. My wife crashed my xj also 😢 on the on-ramp during heavy rain. It had zero rust and all original paint. And yes, I’ve told her many times how to switch to 4wd. Actually dropped it off at the body shop yesterday. I will give these dog lights a shot. The factory style replacements always leaks water after some time so I hope these will last a bit longer.

Just received today a pair of those Zmoon lights. Will be mounting them on my boat. The wattage on the lights is the estimated incandescent equivalent output. It is not an actual wattage the lights use. The lights have very little amp draw.

@@ProjectDanH Yes. I am a big LED fan. I mounted the pair on the bow of the bass boat yesterday on brackets that I made. They are extremely bright! We shouldn’t have any trouble at all running narrow waterways before daylight and after dusk. Of course, we will turn them off whenever another boat approaches from the front to avoid blinding them.
