I dont know much about Imelda May but every now and then I'll load up her appearance on Jules Holland singing Black Tears. Unbelievable performance. I'd recommend it.

My uncle was a studio musician at the time and he played guitar on the original version by the Shangrilas and all their other songs like Leader of the Pack

Jeff Beck, guitar master! Unique as he doesn't use a pick, and with his right hand simultaneously twists the volume knob, and pushes the tremolo (whammy) bar. A very pure player with minimal effects. Mark Knopfler ( Dire Straits) has similar techniques.

The clangy thing you said Mr Beck did was him hitting his wammy bar on the guitar. He was known for doing that. Great Old song done fantastically by Ms Emelda May Great performance. Thanks.

Jeff Beck era un músico muy expresivo, no sólo poseia una gran técnica del instrumento sino que transmitia mucha pasión musical. Aqui está por momentos haciendo sentir el fuego sagrado de este tema. El baterista acompaña de la mejor manera y con mucha fuerza asi como la linea de trompeta y saxos también son excelentes. A Imelda la empecé a ver hace muy poco en los videos, no solo es una gran cantante en su afinación su fuerza y sus desgarros vocales, también canta con su cuerpo cuando siente las letras con gran teatralidad, transmite y produce un espectáculo único. Y eso realza tambien su belleza.

Jeff Beck is my favorite guitarist of all time, one of a kind and can play anything you could possibly want. Imelda has an awesome voice as well, a really nice pairing. The band does this style so well, it's a really lost music style these days.

Check out her own music.. she is also a composer, arranger and producer of her own albums. On her 5 or so albums over 80+% are her own compositions. Check out "Johnny got a boom boom" (Rock-a-billy), "Black Tears" (torch ballad), "Girl I used to be (introspective pop) and many many more.

The first song she song was a hit song for the girl group The Shangri-La's in 1964. (Remember (Walking In The Sand). It was a top 5 hit back then.

Like yourself, I became a fan of Imelda May after hearing only one song. For me, the one song was "Inside Out" (Remix). It didn't sound like anything I'd heard before, and I downloaded everything she had out just based on the strength of that one performance.

Please Mr. Jailor was featured in the John Waters film, Cry Baby, starring Johnny Depp (with an appearance by Iggy Pop). You might want to check out the movie. It has some great music. Also, Aerosmith did a great cover of Walking in the Sand.

Amilda May is great just great. She has never gotten the recognition or the fame to reflect how great she is. Listen to her song black tears or her song, it’s great to be alive. Jeff back if you want to really see him get down watch a video of him when he was with Led Zeppelin. He is playing a double guitar in the song stairway to heaven. Jeff Beck is on the same level as Brian May, who I consider two of the greatest guitarist ever.

It sounds different because it’s not true jazz fusion. It is rockabilly. Rockabilly is it’s own style of music. That’s why it sounds different.

Jeff uses the Whammy bar like a 3rd hand. He creates vibrato x tone x sustain all with that little wand he's always manipulating. No other Guitarist sounds like him because they can't do it like him.

Beck is my favorite guitar player followed by Joe Bonamassa if were talking the living. The concert is amazing and well worth watching. On top of that you will learn much about Les Paul the father of the electric guitar

Imelda is one of those singer's who gets the lyrics and more importantly the emotions they should convey. But she doesn't do anything that is unnecessary. Jeff Beck? Voted into top 5 guitarists of all time tells you everything? RIP J.B.

Blues.....not fusion. Not sure if it is Delta or Chicago blues. Wynona Carr wrote "Please Mr. Jailor" in 1956.

This sounds at the intro to be for Amy Winehouse. Oh, I see! Not a bad imitation. You might check out Amy's rendition (though we don't Jeff Beck). Both great!
