I saw Jimmy Page on an interview shortly before Jeff passed and Jimmy said Jeff was the Best Guitarist in the world! Jeff was blown away. Jeff wore the same outfit while playing for Beth Hart’s tribute to Buddy Guy at the Kennedy Honours. Same Night has Led Zeppelin! He was best friends with Johnny Depp and they had been touring together for last of Jeff’s touring. Jeff really was there for JD during and after the big case!❤RIP Jeff

Jeff Beck shows off his fellow players and then gives us a shimmering solo. This is genuine Jeff Beck. He was a gentleman. And we also witnessed those things at school in Sutton East Secondary School. We all witnessed it our class! We watched when he came in with bits and pieces and sat down in the teacher's store cupboard when he said he was trying to make a guitar. Notes came out of that cupboard! I have no idea how he did it! Jeff always played with the best players and you see them here! Cynthia Allen-McLaglen

Jeff Beck was the greatest in my book. Plays without a pick. Makes sounds nobody else gets. And the lovely young lady on bass is Talia Wilkenfeld from Australia. Vinnie Caluto is on drums, used to play with Frank Zappa. Saw Jeff Beck with Stevie Ray Vaughan in 1989. What a night. Jimmy Page and Robert Plant attended this gig you are watching. They show them occasionally on the DVD version.

No only Jeff Beck was an extraorinary guitarist. But he also managed to gather other extraordinary musicians in his band. Drummer Vinnie Colaiuta and bassist Tal Wilkenfeld are one of the best rhythm groups of all time. THey had a deep musical connection, even though they belong to different generations. Tal was just 21 years old when this concert was played.

All I can do is second everyone's comments here. Jeff Beck never stopped improving ( ! ) in his entire career, a fact which Jimmy Page praised him for when inducting him into the RRHOF. As for talent, Jeff discovered a young singer named Rod Stewart and Rod's greatest work in singing is on the first two Jeff Beck albums, Truth and the downright dangerous Beck-Ola. Check out Shapes Of Things next, a song which led Brian May to proclaim, "He's got notes on his guitar that aren't on mine!" Or for more of this particular lineup, as others have suggested, watch Big Block, Scattetbrain, or Nadia and Where Were You. (That last one sent Eddie Van Halen to the LA forum cuz he HAD to see if Jeff could reproduce it live. He did.)

All is ok but "He's got notes on his guitar that aren't on mine!" isn't a Brian May quote : it's a Ritchie Blackmore one. Anyway we could name Clapton, Page, Zappa, Gilmour, McLaughlin : they all consider Jeff like the top. Oh, if you didn't watch the Ronnie Scott's "Angel (Footsteps)" and the way it ends, it's a must see must ear.

Beck was much better than both Page and Clapton put together. It was the songs he wrote that most people didn't care for. He didn't compromise. Jeff Beck - Stratus & Cause We've Ended As Lovers ...Vinnie on drums and a young Tal Wilkenfeld on bass. Google Jeff Beck and Tal Wilkenfeld. She had been playing bass for just a few years when she showed up at Jeff's door to audition for the 2007 tour. She was barely 21. Jeff thought it was a joke by Vinnie who recommended her. but he soon realized her talent and became her mentor. I love watching the interactions between them. There is more to this story like she spent the night before showing up in the hospital with food poisoning from the flight out and it was a 50 mile drive into the country to Jeff's estate.

20 year old Tal Welkenfeld was later replaced by one of her inspirations, Rhonda Scott. She immediately quit Prince's band when Jeff asked her to join and remained with him until his death. Prince was not happy. Vinnie is among the greatest drummers of all time. Concert pianist Jason Robello is on keyboards. Treat yourself to this DVD as every song is jaw dropping.

Jeff Beck played a monumental part in Rock/Blues/Jazz fusion history, amongst other music jonres he chose to play. He replaced Eric Clapton in the Yardbirds. Jeff changed the band into hit makers during his time in the band with his innovative guitar playing.Jimmy Page joined the band initially as a Bass player. Then later as dual lead guitarists. When Jeff left the band Jimmy stayed on and morfed it into Led Zeppelin. This concert at Ronnie Scotts was over 5 nights. He had Eric Clapton on for 2 songs. Over these nights in the audience were Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, Jon Bonjovi, Brian May and others who were blown away by his performances. Tal, Vinnie and Jason on keyboards were exceptional. There isn't a song on this DVD not to like. The final song was created by Jeff called Where Were You. This song was declared by Brian May from Queen as possibly the greatest guitar performance EVER recorded. Check out the entire DVD. Rest in peace Jeff 😢 Neil from Sydney Australia (where Tal Wilkenfelds from)

[Jeff Beck, Freeway Jam + Blue Wind, Live in Japan 2009 Feb. 21] ...Then of course his 2009 induction into the Hall of fame. Tal and Vinnie were with him . Jeff had guest singers. One of them was Joss stone and he joined her in 2014 at Wembley Stadium with the best versions of 2 songs.... [Joss Stone Jeff Beck Wembley Stadium rock at the NFL match!]... OK so I'm late to the party and everyone said most of what I was going to but I can add a couple of tidbits. One of my old friends is a drummer and one of his favorites was Vinny and he mentioned something I never would have picked up on my own that Vinnie was polyrhythmic meaning he can play separate rhythms with his feet while playing a totally different beat with his hands.

Jeff Beck is one of the most successful, most influential guitarists of all time. EVERYONE - and I mean EVERYONE - wanted him to play on their records and in their gigs and were HONORED if he asked them to perform with him. His concerts with Stevie Wonder are incredible. (I believe Stevie Wonder wrote "Cause We Ended As Lovers".) Listen to any interview with Jimmy Page or Brian May or Eric Clapton when they are asked who they admire most ... the answer is always Jeff Beck. Do yourself a REALLY BIG FAVOR and listen to any of his duets with Stevie Ray Vaughan ... they toured together ... watch "Going Down" LIVE to see two of the very BEST having the time of their lives! EXCEPTIONAL!

Correct, on Stevie Wonder writing CWEAL. My recollection -- and details may be slightly off -- is that the riff that became Superstition was written by Jeff. He and Stevie were put together by brass at the record label, and nothing really came of it as far as them recording together, but Jeff was messing around and Stevie walked in on what became Superstiton, said "I'm paying for the studio time, now!" and Jeff said use it any way you want. Stevie *paid* him by writing 'Cause We've Ended as Lovers for him!

Beck, Clapton and page were not all in the Yardbirds concurrently. Clapton left when the band was enticed away from the blues, and he joined John Mayall's Bluesbreakers. Beck joined the Yardbirds and then Page joined as their bass player. After a while, he switched to guitar. By the time the Yardbirds bit the dust, he was their sole guitarist. He still owns the band name. The secret of Jeff Beck's style was in his right (picking) hand technique, as opposed to the left (fretting) hand with almost every other guitarist. The bass player here is Tal WIlkenfeld and the drummer is Vinnie Colaiuta, who played with Frank Zappa previously.

Tal is great, no question, for sure ! But, man, check out the greatest bassplayers off all time, Jaco Pastorius, Stanley Clarke, Victor Wooten, Marcus Miller. It's always up for debate, but in my opinion these 4 are the most profound, influencial and unique bassplayers from the last 5 decades, who inspired likely everyone after them. You might wanna start with portrait of tracy and teen town by Pastorius, Schooldays by Clarke, Amazing Grace by Wooten, and Jean Pierre by Miller.
