In this clip, Jeff Bhasker opened up about working on "Runaway" on Kanye's "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" album. Jeff explained that he was trying to get the right note for the beginning notes of the song, which led to the haunting arrangement heard at the beginning of the song. Jeff went on to speak about working on "Watch the Throne," and Kanye flying him out to Australia to record. Jeff explained that he wasn't confident that he had anything to show them, but after playing them a recent composition, Kanye chose it, and it became "Lift Off." To hear more, including Beyoncé singing the melody at the start of the song and getting in trouble for leaking Jay-Z's lyrics, hit the above clip.

I feel like producers are underrated as fuck. This kind of thing gives me chills to watch the breakdown of a beat made, then when it all comes together it's just so DOPE. "Lift Off" for some reason and idk what it was, just is AMAZING & my favorite song off that entire WTT album...wait, it's a tie between that & "What You Need" the whole album slapped, but those 2 song OMG. You, Mr. Bhasker are a true talent! Keep continuing to bless our ears!

Sure, the interviewer may not be a musical savant or anything like that, but atleast she clearly cares about the person she's interviewing and what they're saying. Most interviewers only interview because the person they're interviewing is famous and they can get attention from it, but i can tell she's a fan and thats already something in of itself.
