I came back to watch this after hearing of the passing of Richard Tandy. So incredibly sad to lose this man. What a musical genius that helped create some of the greatest songs. This is a priceless and treasured video of these two!

Jeff Lynne is probably one of the few people that I can listen to with absolutely no instruments at all. His voice is INCREDIBLY unique. I'm so glad he rose to the level that he has so the rest of us could hear what he offered up to the world. The world is a much a better place with Jeff Lynne in it. He is super talented in every way! Long-live you Jeff!

Saw Jeff twice in the early 80’s at the Chicago Stadium with Hall & Oates as the Opening Act. Flash forward 35 years later my 19 year old Son and I saw him in 2018 at All-State Arena in Northwest Suburban Rosemont and again in 2019 at the United Center in Chicago. Simply Sensational. Some of the best concerts I have ever witnessed. I consider it a privilege, Especially being able to do it with another generation who loves his music and all Classic Rock!

It's ironic that the man behind the Electric Light Orchestra, the very epitome of synth-rock, is even more impressive with just an acoustic guitar and piano accompanying him. A true genius, and astute enough to surround himself with great musicians like Richard Tandy. Long may he continue to make great music!

Even after all these years, I still love these songs. And Jeff Lynne's voice is still SUPERB. His song writing brought so much music to me that still affects me in such a unique way and makes me sing along.

Never, ever tire of Jeff Lynne. His music is timeless. I ALWAYS come back to his songs over and over again. Great songwriter, producer, musician and singer. And, just a wonderful human. Love the friendship and chemistry he has with Richard Tandy. They compliment each other beautifully.

The kids these days don't know what they are missing out on..........this is musical class, not an autotune in sight. I've enjoyed ELO for years, but find myself coming back to this stripped back acoustic version more and more. Thanks guys.

I am 15 and I can't get enough of this spectacular band! Shangri-la, Jungle, Steppin' Out, Livin' Thing, Tightrope, Wild West Hero, Above The Clouds, Evil Women, Strange Magic ah I just can't get enough. Jeff is such an extraordinary singer too. The Lovin' Spoonful, Badfinger, and Emitt Rhodes are my other all time favorites too.

lookin at the replies, i'm glad i'm not the only teen that likes these old songs. I grew up listening to my parent's music and my dad would play ELO and Genesis a lot. Mum is more into some 80s stuff, like OMD and A Flock Of Seagulls. Personally, my fav artist would be Supertramp but Jeff Lynne is such an underrated legend.

Has been at the heart of British music & songwriting for 50yrs now, but still ignored by all but those of us who see his utter briliance for what it is. I just saw your comment in 2020, I agree with you, Telephone Line was a song that I heard frequently when I was very young, it represents most of my youth, but now that I am 60, I remember that this song makes me think about one girlfriend that I had when I was 58, she was really a bad person, she was dating another man at the same time than me, I was very sad and upset and I kept calling her on the telephone, she did not answer, and that was the best thing that ever happened to me, I recover from this situation very quickly and was very happy that I got rid of this woman, so you can imagine everything that it represents for me, so, every time that I hear it I almost cry of happiness, best regards.

I saw ElO and Jeff Lynn at the Boston Gardens in 1976 I was 17 The laser show was the highlight. They used the lasers on the stand up bass and cello, I was amazed. The band did most of Eldorado. That same week Peter Frampton and CSN played the Gardens. ELO was the most memorable. Music today will never be as good. I was fortunate to have had this experience .. Jeff has left his mark.

Telephone Line - Brilliant, just Brilliant. One of the things I love about the acoustic performance of telephone line is that although these two guys have been together for decades and know each other so well, the brilliant Richard Tandy smiles as he plays during the song as though in awe of what he is actually a part of. It's almost as if he is feeling "Am I really a part of this?!" I can sort of play telephone line on the piano in the style of Richard, but I have given up trying to sing like Jeff. Huge range - Lucky boy. God bless Jeff and Richard.

I read an article that Mr. Lynne's father did not think much of his sons musical talent, then the El Dorado album release came out and Mr Lynne played it for his dear ole dad and the man became speechless and rightfully so. One of England's greatest songwriters that comes across as a real nice English gentlemen.

Perfection! I have seen close to 300 concerts approximately in my lifetime...And Jeff Lynne's ELO is the best live Band i have ever seen...1976, 2016, 2018 and 2019. Jeff Lynne's ELO is one of the very, very few bands sounding better live than on their records. They are this good.

Jeff Lynne is the most talented Music God ever. He will be 71 in 2018 and his voice is Gold. All his live concerts sound as good if not better than the original recordings...Not many bands and musicians can match that. Just have a listen from Jeff Lynne's ELO at Wembley Stadium June 24 2017... Can't wait to see Jeff Lynne's ELO on the 2018 Europe and North American Tour. I just received my tickets for LA , NY and Toronto Canada. It will be awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
