On May 20, 2024, at 6:51 AM, salvors working at the site of the Francis Scott Key bridge Collapse in Baltimore Maryland successfully related the motor vessel MV Dali ship from the bridge collapse debris. A nice video, but it didn't need the clips of Louis Armstrong singing "Hello Dolly". It may seem clever, but remember six men were killed in the collapse. Show some class. Rest in peace to the six.
@jeffostroff
@jeffostroff 29 күн бұрын
Yes, YOU show some class, no need to stroll in on your self-righteous high horse fingerpointing at others, implying we have no respect for the dead. The dead have been reunited with their families and buried that is all in the past, we are allowed to smile, and we are allowed to think of a song that has a similar phonetic sound to the name of the ship, and you don't get to twist our moment of glimmer and hope into disrespect for the dead solely to build up your holier than thou persona. Yesterday was about celebrating progress. BTW the Governor smiled at the press conference when talking about the tugboat captains, you better get your finger-pointing game on and point at him too for smiling when 6 people were killed. There was a bunch of celebration high-fives after it docked too, you better go point at them too, remember, that's disrespect for the lost 6. Nice touch on the RIP statement at the end of your judgment to prove to everyone that you are the most pious person in the room.

@@minikodtlivov3184 Nothing to apologize for and his point was invalid. He used the wrong metric to determine whether there was respect for the dead. The choice of an innocent warm welcoming song from a classic bygone era was a non-causal of disrespect that he was trying to force into the equation. The original comment was from a gaslighting hypocrite forcing his twisted definition of respect on the rest of us. No, we don't understand his gaslighting point.

Ummm, isn't that what tug boats are for? Also, look closely and not a single tug is working anywhere near potential danger from the bow of the Dali. Normally this procedure would have been done towing the bow first but in this special case they simply stayed away from that area just in case it all came crashing down.

@@user-co7fb6qe5w yes I live 3 blocks from one of Canada's major commercial harbors. I would say harbour tugs have over-sized propellers compaired to the hull size. Not only that but tugs don't need to waste a lot of power on high speed, so they can be designed for low-speed grunt.

You seem to overlook this entire catastrophic incident was 100 % preventable if only federally mandated laws, safety regulations and protocol were followed. I don't promote or endorse 'negativity' but I don't turn a blind eye to responsibilities. Hopefully the NTSB, FBI and Coast Guard conclusinary reports/investigation will bring to justice all of those negligent. Whenever one prioritizes profit over safety guidelines you'll create a prescription for a catastrophic tragedy. 6 workers lives were needlessly taken away due to negligence. That is a fact. Open your eyes around you.

I fully appreciate this is a momentous moment in the cycle of remedying damage done before any rebuilding the bridge, but recognition of the 6 lives lost and the effect on the community would have been appreciated People lost their lives and I can't help but feel that all channels reporting this could do a far better job in this respect, when the last body was recovered it was almost brushed off as a minor event rather then recognition of the effect the losses of life and the effect on the families and community

@HPD1171
@HPD1171 28 күн бұрын
@@dedrakuhn6103 there are several factors but main one has to do with the type of visa the crew has which being only 30 day has expired and also the fact that there is ongoing investigation where they need to work closely with the FBI. another thing is a crew is required to stay on board the ship in order for regular upkeep and there was discussion about which crew members to send back and who would need to stay but federal government is not known to be very transparent about this so its hard to know exact details. having the ship at port should in the very least help speed things along.

yeah, it was deployed as a last desperate attempt to stop the dali before the collisions. and with the bridge collapsing on the ship, the mechanisms to pull up the anchor was damage and can no longer work, so it is just easier to cut the chain instead of trying to recover the anchor still attached to the ship.

I noticed around 5:30 the barriers around the power poles and wondered why they had such wide ones protecting power poles and almost nothing protecting the bridge.

Already much discussion about the hazardous waste aboard, however are there any refrigerated shipping containers of perishable meat, produce, and other food?

there most certainly would be perishables and i pity the dock workers that have to unload them

watching the streamtime live footage at 2 x speed this morning you could clearly see the bow rising as they pumped the ballast out at just about the crack of dawn

Loving the accompanying music "Hello, Dali" by Louis Armstrong. Maybe the replacement bridge can be named after him (and Ella)?

The crew of the ship has been stuck on the ship for the whole time. 2 months. Phones confiscated. Families a half the world away. Terrible treatment for people.

I believe they were given other phones to contact their families with. I'm not sure who provided the phones. For now, the FBI seems to want their original phones as evidence in some kind of investigation.

This was the crews fault! They're under criminal investigation for lying to the pilot about the ships condition. 6 people died because of their actions.
