Boy, these last two matches against Halep and Kudermetova, Ostapenko was AWESOME. Hard to think of anyone who could have beaten her when she is playing at this level. Hope she can keep it up. Would make a great year for her.

Wow what a performance by Aljona! I feel like she's been getting back to her confident self since winning Eastbourne last year. She's been in impeccable form this tournament and rightfully deserves her new ranking of #13 after this title win. I know she said her goal was to make it back to the top-10 in 2022 and I fully believe that she'll be able to do that.

I too had to applause from Australia at the end, Jelena has played so well, her powerful forehand and awesome angled backhand cross court shots were the best. Dannielle Colins has a similar cross court well angled shot. Aust Open 2022.... Jelena will be a force in the doubles final as well.

As well as ostapenko is playing which is great to see I’m so surprised that the girls on tour are so one dimensional trying to out hit her when she is in such a rhythm wouldn’t you try to change paces add lobs drop shots slices to get her off rhythm. That is why ash Barty is so dominant she does exactly that and makes these players look like beginners sometimes.

Unfortunately, she has (in recent months & years) behaved like a "spoiled little BRAT" (both on & off court) & been fined many times for her Code Violations! However, I'm pretty sure that *because her Mother is chaperoning her these days,* she's being much more focussed on the job at hand. What she did here is testament to that! Such a great Tournament by Jelena - I love to see her *just play TENNIS!* A very well-deserved WIN! 😆
