The reason why this cartoon was so awesome was because Jem was an all female band and with it being from the 80s the music style was 80s glam metal which is what Jem is, it stands out as there were far fewer great all female metal bands in this era. The cartoon featuring their "music videos" like you would see on MTV was exactly right for the time. There is no computer retouching with the music and singing, it's 80s guitarists and singers, what you hear is what they played. The reason why this new film version sucks is because the format has been transferred to the modern day X-Factor dominated shitty One Direction music style, the themes in this film are done to death on TV with the prominence of a million X-Factor type music talent shows. And the music in the film is so over dubbed and over processed it sounds like any other manufactured chart tosh, what you hear has been passed through so many computer programs that what you hear is deff not what they played or sound like....

I think I got it on the Jem Unlimited website, which is dead now. Cool guitar version indeed ! According to the file name it is supposed to be a French version but I don't recall ever hearing it on a French episode ending.

I think that the Misfits part is in D mixolidian mode, with a 7th dominant chord in the 1st degree. The song is in D minor key.

Still a catchy 80's tune after soooo many years, (maybe its already timeless!), with original non processed voices. Makes me remember Debbie Gibson somehow... maybe that is why I like it

My sister loved this show and we both watched this show in daycare. This was her show aswell My Little Pony while mine was Transformers, G.I Joe an American Hero. I loved Jem's theme song always though. It was catchy and this was obviously before Hannah Montana years ahead.
