Zered Bassett is criminally underrated. If you haven’t already, check out his “Vicious Cycle” and “State of Mind” parts. They are insane.

Visited this spot from Toronto, Canada during my NYC trip in May. Thought I’d be able to cop a couple tricks at least but it’s gnarlier in person than it looks in videos/photos. Much taller, and the edge is so rounded and the gaps in the marble are chunky as hell.

Man I remember when me and my friends had a skate trip to NYC and we stumbled upon this spot on our way to Brooklyn banks. Front side nose slide felt so awesome there. Brooklyn banks just smelt like piss lol still iconic but it smelt haha.

People still skate in nyc? Right on! Thought it was all longboards and shit now. Every time someone says they skateboard or have a skateboard and I ask to ride it... they pull out some strange longboard/pennyboard
@sirvelociraptor25904 жыл бұрын
@@ThatSB hey longboarding is badass too, I used to be into downhill stuff. Different crafts that deserve respect, but yeah, I hate it when people call skateboards longboards and vice versa

Hit that on my bmx 14 years ago its deff a weird ledge to grind. But one of my favorite spots to this day is the Chinatown banks. I could ride those all day. No one likes them for some reason but I had so much fun riding there.

Hubbas in general are such a weird architectural phenomenon. They serve no purpose other than being something to hold onto while using stairs, which handrails do much better and have got to be way cheaper. It's almost like they were put on earth just for street skating.

This is legit. Took 3 NY trips in 04/05 was actually at flushing for New Year’s Eve to New Year’s Day. Saw Brian Brown at the Brooklyn banks when Reda was taking a picture of him doing a backside 180 fakie 50 180 out on the box that was on the banks. My friends and I were just out of the photo in Transworld. Good times man.

So sad when spots get buried. A few local spots of mine got that treatment a nice 2 step courthouse by me they put metal fence in front so can't skate it. And round the corner was a sketchy 3 stair they put metal pole in the middle of landing and those bobbly surface at the top for blind people. And a 6 stair got the bobbly surface on top n bottom rip my spots
@saintemory95565 жыл бұрын
I'd rather have a spot buried than I'd have a blind person falling of a six stair...

As someone who’s always been outside the culture, I just wanna say skate culture is blessed. I have yet to meet a skater I didn’t like. Seems like there is general positivity and support, a real rebellious counterculture worth investing in. Cheers
