This whole thing is a hypocritical eyesore, like "green" wind & solar projects defiling the desert.

Skateboarding lost the attitude as did Rock n Roll and Punk from the 70s 80s and 90s. The culprit you ask? Well it's the same villain that ruined everything else and that's Covid and it's sidekick, money. I've been a skater since childhood and at 47 I'm still the skater as are my kids but things are different. Transworld donates to democrats and that's no good

Ian still doesn't understand how The Man Who Souled the World was a hit piece. Steve was made out to be this money hungry business man. Even Daewon Song didn't understand that Steve was a skater back in his day. Steve wanted to build a brand for skaters by skaters for street skating. They were still trying to push vertical even into 2006 when it was clearly dead. Pool and bowl skating is awesome, but vert guys are lame... Steve built the World facility to accommodate skaters: there was a park, a distribution center, and dorms... All the guys, Daewon Rodney Jason, blamed Steve for taking advantage of them by allowing them to party. But they took no responsibility for their own actions. For those of you that don't know Daewon's career was pretty much over in the late 90's from "the party". He was a severe alcoholic, and pretty much stopped skating after an injury which is why he goes so hard now. There were other lesser known skaters on the team that fell victim to their own freedom. It's not like Steve was buying them beer, but in hindsight it wasn't a good idea to not check in with the team or have an actual manager. Mullen was back and forth to Florida at the time because his father had passed so they were literally just partying at the compound instead of skating, and skating... But again, Steve owned the company to he had to go find board and wheel manufacturers, screen printers for shirts... he didn't want any middle men so he could give the skaters as much money as they deserved. It is disappointing to see how Daewon shits on Steve throughout that entire "documentary" at one point saying he "was paid too much money for a kid"... But they've all since grown up and taken responsibility for their actions, and made good with Steve. Steve really got made to look like a greedy money hungry businessman in that movie when in reality he was a skater for skaters. People don't get that he never made a dime off his skate companies. Every dime he made he sank with the ship. It was his distribution company he started after World was liquidated* that made him money. So when World went into Walmart Steve was already gone... from 93 to 2001 World Industries was everywhere...

Fullmoons ramp up my bipolar. So much I've had to book time off work around them. I don't want to be alive around it and want the whole world to die. Have an amazing girlfriend and doing alright for myself but non of that matters when I feel like that. I dont live near the beach and barely surf anymore which kills me. As an aries I need adrenaline and when I feel unfulfilled I just feel extremely angry which is even more isolating.

Rocco is a sell out. He was in it just to get rich quick, then bailed. He has not done anything in skateboarding in over 20 years. He even admitted his goal was to not work and that's it. He thanked Rick Howard, so not he doesn't have to work. Idk why so many people think he's God. What he did does not hold a candle to what George Powell and Stacey Peralta did. I have no respect for him. He dropped out of skateboarding and peaks his head out every 10 years. Who GAF? I don't. If skateboarding was his true passion, he would still be involved. He spend all his time on vacations. He was only in it for the money. He only cares about himself.

Moved to Hermosa Beach in ‘77 at 12 years old. My first day on the strand I watched Steve spin 20 + 360.s and everything changed forever…. Skateboarding and surfing became my lifestyle and here we are 47 years later and I’m still paddling out at every given opportunity. Go Rocco!

Wow, you’re missing an entire generation of skateboarders and an entire generation of the evolution of skateboards from steel wheels to urethane wheels. I’m an ex pro skater from the 70s when boards came from the steel wooden board to the urethane fiberglass boards. This is the that are missing, we did not go from steel to concave decks that’s crazy. You’re missing a whole generation of skaters and the most important evolution in skateboards ever we did not go boards with steel wheels to wood boards with urethane wheels that are concave with you missing the whole evolution of skateboarding from the old time, skateboards were useless With steel wheels and half ass wooden boards to the most revolution ever created in the skateboarding or sports world, the invention of urethane wheels, and fiberglass boards from like Gordon and Smith no bad wheels and trucks and country surf designs of Hawaii, which is where I grew up you are nowhere near being a skateboard historian because you’re missing so much

Mullen is the best to ever do it period. No doubt there's countless talented skaters but can they say they transformed skating with over 300+ tricks invented? Nobody has done what Mullen did nor will there ever be another Mullen. Look at Anderson, he still doesn't touch the stuff Mullen was doing. Rodney's most technical tricks haven't even been emulated more than a hand full of times by even less people
