Its good to know that this is a universal feeling. My mom passed when she was 32 and I was 9. Being that young 32 seemed so old to me but when I turned 32 I realized how young 32 really is. I turned 33 in January and had the same feeling of "I made it". Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing, it helps to know I wasn't crazy feeling that way. Happy belated Birthday! Glad you enjoyed your stay!

Losing a parent so young must be heartbreaking. It's silly, but I felt young and terrified when was 29 and lost a parent. The strangest thing is that my fear of dying isn't about me, my husband is older than me and I frequently feel like we only have 10 years left together and that he is going to pass at the same age as my father. No matter how irrational it seems, I completely understand those feelings.

My mom died at 38 from cancer, and I was 10. I’m currently 27, and I COMPLETELY agree Jenn. I’m scared to reach 38. It’s not irrational at all. You did it, and you’ve shown me that I can make it to 39. You deserve the absolute best. Happy belated birthday!! Love you guys ❤❤❤

Funny you say that too... my dad passed when he was 42 (I was 20). I was so terrified to reach 42. Idk, like I had this weird sense of foreboding, like I'd have something tragic happen that year too? It's such a strange feeling.

My mom passed away at age 56 from leaukemia when I was 24. Her mother passed away at age 50. So, I remember feeling odd as my 50th and 56th birthday approached, then flew by. I'm 65 now. But I completely understand those feelings. So glad you spent your birthday taking care of YOU! Much deserved.

I just loved this! From the cuteness of Jenn saying goodbye to Tim at the hotel, to seeing Jenn have some much needed alone time, to listening to Jenn talk about her mom. My heart goes out to you Jenn. I can’t imagine losing my mom that young. I totally get why you felt that way about thinking you may die at the same age. I had always been worried about having a hysterectomy because my mom almost died when she had one and I always thought the same would happen to me. It didn’t. And I’m so thankful you are passed that age now and can take a deep breath and realize that your moms journey is not yours. I’m so sorry you and your sister had to lose her so young. That seems so unfair. I love that you did this for yourself. Here’s to many more great years ahead. ❤

We just adore you, Jen! Happy 40th! We're happy you're here too :) My Dad passed away when he was 37 and when I passed 37 it was so hard for me to wrap my head around. That I lived a longer life than my father. It's so cliche but it makes me want to live my life to the fullest every day!

I really appreciate when you open up about your feelings and fears and all of your thoughts really. These past couple of years I've been in a similar but different sort of situation. I had a rough upbringing and didn't much want to be here for the first 28 years of my life. Found out a big reason for that was because of an issue that required me to get part of my skull and brain removed. I'm 8 weeks away from my 32nd birthday, alive, wanting to be alive, and in awe that I made it this far. By far, 30 was the wildest birthday to hit, but every one since surgery has been bittersweet and emotional. Happy Birthday, Jenn. May you have many more, and may each be the best you've ever had.

Sometimes you just need a little me time. You never have to apologize for how you feel. I’ve heard from others they had the same worry when their parent died young. I’m glad that worry is over for you now. I can’t believe how much you filmed for us, that was kind of you. This video was so wonderful, thank you and Happy Birthday to my favorite internet friend… as always… looking forward to whatever happens next!!! 🧡🖤🧡

I’m sending you warm hugs and love. Thank you for opening up a bit about grief and your journey through that. My best friend of nearly 20 years lost both of her parents to cancer, her father in 2015 and her mom in 2019. I don’t pretend to understand the grief she’s experienced, but I’ve watched her grow and change through both events. She is an incredibly resilient woman who has come in to her own as a wife, a mom, and a woman. I always think her parents would be so proud of who she’s become. I truly believe our loved ones who cherished and loved us and who have passed on cheer us on in spirit as we live our lives. ❤

I totally hear where you’re coming from, and I can’t imagine how hard that must have been. Happy 40th-you are such a loving and beautiful person, inside and out, and I feel blessed to be able to share part of life with you! I’m so glad you’re here on this Earth! I hope I get to tell you this in person someday (apparently in 2022 I missed Tim at Disney Springs by a couple hours), but thank you for the joy you, your family, and your channel have brought into my life. The last couple of years have been pretty rough for me, and having your videos to watch when I lived by myself out of state for a job in 22 made me feel so much less alone. Parent death anniversaries are rough. My mom died of cancer when she was 38 years old. I was 18 months. I didn’t remember her and never grieved (that I can remember) until my first child turned 18 months old. Holy cow. That was rough. I imagined how he would feel if I were gone. My dad passed when he was 34 (I was 4) and now I'm turning 30 in February and it feels surreal that in just a few short years I'll be older than he was. Jenn, you are not alone regarding losing a parent when the parent was still young. My father passed from a massive heart attack 2 days after his 50th birthday. Also his father passed at 52 from a massive heart attack. As I approached 50 I also was concerned about passing early. I even went for testing on my heart. I was able to talk with my Mom about this feeling and she said she went through the same thing as she approached the age her Mother was when she passed. You are not alone in this. You are lovely, fun, nerdy, kind, and open-hearted, and it’s easy to imagine being friends with you. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us!

Jenn...watching you and Tim build this life and family has been a pleasure. I also turned 40 this year...I lost a cousin at the age of 37 (we are 2 months apart) and every birthday since I've seen as a gift. Thank you both for sharing your love, your joy, your adventures, and your family.

My mom died when she was 59. When I became 59 I felt like you. I thought it was all over. I am now 73 and still kicking! Hang in there sweetie!

Glad you enjoyed your getaway for your birthday. You deserved this because you are a hard working mama! You inspired me to do something similar as a working mom of a 4 year old and 1 year old. Thanks for being real with us and sharing your feelings. We ❤you!

When you spoke about your mom, I cried. I completely understand. My mom died giving birth to me, she was 19. When I had my first child, I thought I was going to die giving birth, I just turned 20. It's scary and emotional.

Hi jenn, just wanted to say thank you for opening up about your mental health and your fears. I share the same fear myself. I lost my mum to breast cancer when i was 21, my sister was 8. She was diagnosed at 39 and passed at 41. Im 36 now, with 3 kiddos and the closer im getting to those milestone ages of my mum's i have these irrational fears/nightmares about what my future holds. Its comforting to know im not alone in those fears, and so happy to see you overcome that moment in your life. I loved this video, was lovely to see you take some selfcare time! ❤ xx

My mom passed away when she was 35 , I was 13 at the time. Then my dad passed when he was 36 & I was 16. I’m now 33 years old and feel as if the same thing will happen to me. It weighs so heavy on my heart every single day. I have 3 wonderful children and I try to spend as much time as possible cherishing them so they feel a lifetime of love ❤️ Happy birthday Jenn ❤

Aww Jen I so want to hug you! IT'S NOT irrational at all! My father passed at 43, I was 19. I'm now 55 and the year I turned 43 I felt the same way, all year "am I gonna make it?" I still to this day think to myself sometimes "I lived longer than my father, how was that possible" Live your life as best you can as I have, knowing that the life they didn't get to live we get to because of them. Lighter note, so happy for your celebration.

Happy birthdayJen! Most of us who have lost a parent can relate to experiencing fear and grief on the birthday where you are the same age as when they passed away. Just know your mom is smiling down on you and your beautiful family and sharing your joy

Happy Belated birthday Jen, you look so happy and beautiful. I have been watching your channel since 2015, you are definitely a role model to me. Thank you for sharing your personal life, I know it has to be hard sometimes to share something so personal, but it definitely helps others going through the same things, losing a mother so young is so hard.
