I remember watching her season of American Idol and her shockingly untimely elimination. I remember then the tragedies in her family. And yet here she is, two Grammys and an Oscar later, glowing as ever and about to go for her second Oscar. She’s the personification of talent and resilience! You’re an inspiration Jennifer Hudson! I had the greatest privilege of seeing the Queen of Soul perform in Toronto in the mid-80’s. Jennifer Hudson is her reincarnate - they both give me chills. We are so very lucky to have you Ms. Hudson and I know Ms. Franklin agrees. Cannot wait to see the movie.

I know that every man/woman called by him will stand in his judgement as psalm 1 says and the gospels confirm, that the wicked will not stand. But since only Christ knows the heart... I continue to hope that anyone no matter how broken that claims Christ as Lord, can find in him peace and salvation for him/her and their entire household. But we won't know that until then. And Queen Latifah has always been a stellar actress, even back in the day when she was only offered comedic roles…even in “Hairspray!” She was the best part of it.

I just came back from the theatre to watch Respect. Wow! I played the album Amazing Grace on my way back home. It felt as if the movie was still continuing in my car. God's spirit met me there. Jennifer did an amazing job as Ms. Franklin. Bring some kleenex.

Everyone judged Jennifer for no longer being an A list celebrity and that she had her 5 mins of fame but they really forget all that she had to go through. yet no matter what she still released albums, acted in films, even sang in theatre, and never stopped doing what she loves.
