You are correct that the audio and video from this one are from different takes. The slight out of sync (and the comments about it) might have been why she took this video down after only a few days. Boris did try to smooth it out a little in this re-post, but it is still obvious in a couple spots. But dubbed or not, one thing is for certain... that voice is so unmistakably Angelina. It always amazes me how recognizable her voice can be even though she has so many different sounds and styles. If you take something like this, and say "Song for A", and "Still Holding Out for You".... all completely different sounds, and yet all sound 100% like Angelina. Her versatility is astounding, but something even more astounding to me is how she is always able to always sound like herself, while doing it in so many different ways.

This very directional mic she loves so much is backwards so she is lipsynching. Doesn't take anything away from this wonderful performance. One of my favorites of her covers. Yes, that is an endless note.

I along with other angels (fans) encourage reaction channels to support the artist even more than by just reacting/analyzing them. Education is the key for both people who desire how to sing better but also for people seeking entertainment on KZfaq. A good percentage of viewers have no idea of the benefits when subscribing to a channel. I truly believe you will get many more to subscribe if you first educate the viewers (who are likely already fans of the artist) how subscribing to the artist's channel benefits both the viewer and the artist. Once the fan/viewer is educated and thankful for that education, then they are much more likely to subscribe to your channel. Hello Jennifer, Agelina is special. There are certainly not many singers who can sing like that. Most singers will stand for such a performance and not sit in order to be able to sing properly. Angelina just sits on the sofa and holds the microphone. You should know that this is her first time using the new microphone. So it's just a better mic test. And then this performance? She can't sing below 100%. This is my favorite Angelina song. Also because she tries out something vocally. I had never heard her like this before. Great job Jennifer. Because Angelina is so fundamentally sound vocally, she can then almost casually add on various flourishes and effects. The heavy vocal fry here invokes a similar feel of the song from Etta James. As you said, it is Angelina experimenting and testing herself, honing her craft, polishing her tools. Thank you. She uses so much vocal fry here, that I would propose to call it vocal deep fry :-) Indeed she was just having fun and like you I enjoyed it a lot! To me it seemed unprocessed and I think she did not make a full B-sound on the boy. But you know much more than I do. If you want to hear what Angelina sounds now like, you would probably enjoy listening to ‘My funny valentine’ which is amazing!

Thanks for this nice reaction. A comparison for you. You won't get requests for a review of "I put a spell on you" other than the one at age nine. Though she covers it often, she has never performed that song like that since. Take an offline look at a later version. Also, her newest release, "My Funny Valentine", has instantly moved to the top three (of over 600) renditions ever performed.

This was a fun reaction video. My first time actually listening to an Angelina Jordan cover. I'd heard quite a lot about her but hadn't taken the time to listen to anything she'd done, until this reaction. An incredibly soulful voice for such a young singer. Quite amazing. Boris does manipulate "Enhance" the videos he post on his site giving us the audio/video sync issues. If you want to hear the original raw audio you have to be pretty quick before a fan gets ahold of it. Now that she is with Republic Records we get overproduce Angie video's right off the bat. Some people have to put their finger prints on everything.

One of the things I love about Angelina is that she has such a versatile bag of vocal techniques that she uses a different set depending upon how she wants to interpret a song. Most singers use pretty much the same style and approach to each song Angelina gives us variety. She has used this vocal fry since she was seven and it is an integral part of her voice she decided to really use it heavily in this particular song and it worked. If she did this all the time I would get tired of it and I would miss her smoother and clearer singing that she is capable of. But she used this exaggerated vocal fry and raspiness to interpret just two songs out of hundreds of performances. The second song was "Billy Jean" which sang a couple years after this one, and the use of this technique in that song appeared to be much more controlled.

Great reaction! Yes, quite a strange posture for such powerful singing, but she certainty tells us the story in no uncertain terms! Perhaps you can suggest why she is holding the microphone the wrong way round? I get the feeling that Etta James would have enjoyed listening to that, I certainly did!

When watching this, I am again struck with the fact she was thirteen at the time! Wow! What a future for AJ and she has advanced so much in the past two or three years... thanks for your insights! You're absolutely correct Jennifer, this is obviously a couple of takes with audio and video from different takes, but it doesn't take away from Angelina's brilliant performance. Watch out for the 'crazy' AJ fans who will try to say that this is one take, they're obviously watching this video with their eyes closed. I don't know where they're getting this 'one take' from for this particular performance, as far as I've seen it's never been put across as a one take performance by Angelina. A great, educational and entertaining reaction as always, more Angelina please.

The quality of the voice recording doesn’t sound like it’s that new mic facing towards her face. So either it was ‘live’ , or patched from takes in the same setup, either there or in another location, and lip synced. Interestingly there is at least one other example of her holding the mic backwards and that is in part of the Billie Jean cover, and in that case she is clearly lip syncing or the sound qualities would not match.

I think I figured out how that is... One commenter thought she was lip syncing... I don't think so, but she is singing into the back of the mic. Apparently, this video is a 12 year old Angelina (reportedly on her birthday) checking out her new present: what every 12 year old girl dreams of, a Neumann TLM103 microphone. (I believe your duet partner uses the 102 to mic his guitar). And she checks it out as all 12 year old girls will by singing karaoke... To Etta James', I'd Rather Go Blind, you know, standard 12 year old fare🤯. But she is singing into the back of the microphone. So, what I think happened, is the 13 year old AJ used the same karaoke backtrack to produce this version which would be very easy to line up and overdub the video (i.e. "enhanced audio") But still... Good God!!!!! That child's voice is insane!!!!

Not enough words: Angelina is now 16 and is a polished professional genius that has been wowing crowds since she was 6 years old. All of the professional voice teachers who have reacted to AJ over the years have been astonished at her abilities and find it difficult to describe her because they have never experienced anyone like her. If you view all of her performances, you would be aware they are all at prodigy level.

Both her & Amira are surely reincarnated souls. Their music genre could not be further apart, but both have music knowledge & performances well beyond their years.
