Please I have this question. Does having the call of prophetic intercession mean you are called to be a prophet?

READ your Bible. All of it. Let God speak to you. Dont be tempted by people who want you to give them a word. Trying to hard can invite in familiar spirits. Also, just because God shows you something doesnt mean you have to TELL the person. Lots of people are not READY to hear a little word and it will mess them up more than it will help.

This is amazing and beautiful, and even though most believers don’t walk in or demonstrate higher levels of gifting, we are all called to. The walk of the Spirit and the supernatural should be every Christian’s normal but sadly it’s not yet.

Martha Newcomb Just for the sake of time, I was in the same position as you for years not wanting the title, going to a church that doesn’t really operate in the Gifts of the Holy Spirit as you’ve mentioned etc but the Lord really dealt with me in that area during a visit to South Africa this year - it was totally liberating as some of my thinking was not aligned with Gods Word..almost rejecting Gods call on my life ..what started out as trying to be “humble before the Lord” became “fleshly and proud full”.. i repented and have since gone on from strength to strength. I pray that the Lord will show you as you don’t need validation from man but you need appointment- calling by the Lord in this area. I would like to harp on and on but pleased be encouraged to seek the Lord more on it and he will show you and give you the answers you’re looking for. Blessings.

@@chard324 the context of the 'classroom' is for structured training and safe space to grow.. It doesn't mean you'll get the Holy Spirit' gift of prophecy just bc you're there. God gives the gifts, but we can grow in using them.. If you want to look at it this way - Jesus disciples the 12, he kept them under His wings for a couple years. They were travelling, but still learning about God and the ways of the kingdom... It's like a portable classroom, but they learned via being in relationship to Jesus and seeing Him teach, then, He commissioned & sent them out. There is such thing as mature & immature prophets.. There's nothing wrong w being in a "place" or context that is structured for their growth. It should be encouraged rather. That's what I think the "classroom" is for.. To be (Biblically) instructed on what the purpose of prophecy is, how to know if you're hearing from God etc etc...seeing prophetic words released and so on. Jesus taught then commissioned.. Kind of the same principle here in a way.. Ps. Vagabond prophets can be dangerous without accountability or proper biblical understanding of prophetic.... Classrooms/prophetic gatherings or groups CAN change that.

Dess D. It’s true and correct that your Pastor may be jealous of the extent that God uses you. This also lets you know that your growth will and is being stifled under his ministry. Seek God about your next move and He will lead you as to whether you should leave. The Old Testament. There is no difference in a seer and a prophet. Check the Bible A seer is a prophet. There is no difference in the positions.

I feel the exact same way! The title is something that I don't care about it's walking in my calling too. I also had a lot of stuff happen all at once. It isn't about us but being faithful to the call of God! God is taking me out of the wilderness

If a person spent all day worrying about finding a spouse and has a dream that night about getting married, that is most likely a dream from the soul. If a person dreams of having sexual intercourse it is most likely from the devil. A dream from the devil is meant to take a person away from his or her God-ordained destiny, which may include leading a person into sin. That is why it is important to discern the source of a dream because it may not be form the Lord. In addition, a prophecy is a revelation from a deity, which may or may not be the Lord. The woman with the spirit of divination was prophetic but her revelations were from an impure spirit (Acts 16:16-18). I touched on some of this in my answer to your other question. If I recall correctly, I wrote about how we met on the cover of the book, and we are still in contact years later. The Lord still communicates via dreams today, even to unbelievers, just like He did with king Abimelech. The king made a serious mistake by taking Abraham’s wife, shortly after the Lord had promised to bless them with a son within a year. Prophetic dreams and visions is also one of the ways people of different beliefs are coming to Christ Jesus.

@@apostleshavon , here's the right understanding of Joel 2:28 that would clear your confusion: After the restoration Joel spoke of previously in the chapter, there will come a time of ultimate restoration and blessing. This latter time will be marked by an outpouring of God's Spirit on "ALL" flesh - not only selected men at selected times for selected duties. The Old Testament has a rich record of the work of the Spirit, but He was not poured out on all flesh under the Old Covenant. Instead, certain men were filled with the Spirit at certain times and only for certain duties. It was rather selective. Here, Joel looks forward to the glorious New Covenant, when the Spirit of God would be poured out on "ALL" flesh. Why, even your sons and daughters, your old men, and your young men would be filled with the Spirit of God. This was fulfilled on the Day of Pentecost when the disciples gathered in the upper room, waiting in Jerusalem for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit that Jesus promised would come (Acts 1:4-5). When the outpouring of the Spirit came, the 120 followers of Jesus were all filled with the Spirit and began to praise God in other tongues. Jerusalem was crowded at that time, because of the feast of Pentecost - so a crowd quickly gathered because of the commotion. Those who heard the disciples praise God in these miraculous languages began to mock them, claiming they were drunk. At first, any Jew would scoff at the idea of 120 followers of a crucified man being filled with the Holy Spirit. Based on their understanding of the Old Testament they would think, "These 120 people are not kings or prophets or priests; God only pours out His Spirit on special people for special duties. These are common folk, and God doesn't pour out His Spirit on them." Peter uses the prophecy of Joel to show them that things are different now, just as God said they would be. Now, the Holy Spirit is poured out upon all who believe and receive, even the common folk. Now God offered a New Covenant relationship, and part of the New Covenant was the outpouring of the Spirit for "ALL" who receive in faith. Yes, they are chosen, but you have to answer the call. I know that for a fact bc the Lord gave me a vision years ago about an old 1940s telephone. Ring ring ring, answer the phone...(answer the call). It's a very old call..But I had to answer it. Once I did the vision lifted.

I have known seers and I have known prophets. My understanding is that a seer can see things in the spirit about you or other things. I have known a gal in the past that would see things about people and tell them. Everything would be true. Prophets would just get a word and also they can see things in the spirit too. I am no prophet but have been given visions and have seen in the spirit before. The lord has also told me about future events too. Some are just coming to pass next week in the financial realm globally.

I agree D Hall. In addition, why such an uproar when a prophet has a title? People have no problem calling a pastor, Pastor. They rarely concern themselves if the pastor is called by God legitimately.

Margarita Octa, Jennifer says a Seer has distinct discernment. Imo that seems right. I do not feel compelled to prophesy. I know I have the office. Was announced 3X in public. Oh the uproar in my friends. The phenomena I experienced were extremely UNCOMMON. I had a woman, raised from the dead, I saw a Pillar of cloud the size of a silo, white - the Lord spoke: Tell them I'm Coming 3X. I saw a whirlwind, my son it too. Other astounding things. Often, I am left out bcz others don't know what to do with me. And yes, I have training. Very isolated - I do have personal & public words yet, the churchy ppl deny its ABBA. Why? Bcz they have no training and no testimony.

I know "real" prophets unlike myself I have a strong prophetic "gift of knowledge, word of wisdom, strong discerning of spirits" gift of prophetic intercessory by which a lot of prophets can get it twisted thinking I'm a prophet. I don't have the eyesight of a prophet but the discerning gift only

If thats the transalation, then how do u call your Dad be like my male parent. If you are asked whats your Father's name do u answer like I have no Father on earth, I have a male human who is my parent but not a father. I share this to get you thinking of what Jesus was talking about. He said not call people teacher, so do u believe there are no teachers on earth? So when a child goes to school can't call their teacher a teacher because Jesus said not to call any body a teacher on earth, think about it!

We are all called to preach the Gospel but we are not all called to be part of the five fold ministry.

What does it mean if my hands started shaking and the woman 2 rows in front of me said I am to pray for her. I ended up discerning God was calling her out as a prophet and I said God was annointing and calling her as a prophet. The power that I felt running through my hands I said are you ready and there was some kind of a transfer of power. I am now awaiting a meeting with my pastor for concerns he has. Any insight into what is happening here and how to deal with the scrutiny to come?

The best way to hear from God is to get closer and closer to HIM, through prayer, Word, and Worship, and just communing with Him and then waiting quietly to hear from Him. The only true affirmation you need is from Jesus. If He has told you things, believe what He has said! :) God showed me four things: SURRENDER. Surrender everything in your life to Him.Body, soul, spirit...total and complete surrender is essential. SUBMIT. Submit to Jesus as not only your Savior, Redeemer, God, but also Your Lord. "Lord" essentially means you "work" for Him. He is YOUR BOSS. You put yourself under His Authority in all you do in your life. And then you LISTEN to Him. :) COMMIT. If you are not committed to living your life through Him and FOR HIM, other things will gain more credence and pull you out of true commitment. BE WILLING. Be willing for God to use you in any way He wishes to use you! I once had someone "spiritual" tell me to "lay down the prophetic that the healing anointing become more powerful." I replied; "HE is GOD. HE can do it ALL!" Lay down the prophetic so that other gifting could be stronger? The prophetic is PART of the healing gifting because God will SHOW ME what's going on in the person's body, or what they need to do to heal, or what caused their illness in the first place; or if the infirmity is physical, emotional, or of a spiritual nature or all three.... 1 Corinthians 12. You see, the MANIFESTATION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT within you is REALLY what this is! You cannot do this on your own! It is God within you, using you as His vessel. Once you realize this, it sort of takes the pressure off! "It's not ME, it's HIM. All I've got to do is listen, and DO what He tells me to do.." It's simple faith in the Holy Spirit working in and through you; The Lord Jesus, the Head of the Church, leading you where He wants you, and Our Abba watching over all His Work to perform it. All ministry, is after all, is GOD's Ministry. We are His hands, feet, ears, eyes, mouth..and most importantly, His heart. Ask Him to feel and see and hear and DO through His heart, His eyes, His ears...and watch as He does amazing things through you--remembering always to Give the Glory to GOD, for the heart of a true apostle, prophet evangelist, pastor,, teacher..will always DO ALL FOR THE GLORY OF GOD, because Love for Him is what matters most. AMEN.
