Art Fleming, my Mom and I watched him for years at lunch in the 1960's-great memory...

That had to be one of the BEST games of the ‘79 Fleming run. Simply exciting. Thank you for posting this ne’er-before-seen episode!

My 11th birthday was during the time the '78 Jeopardy! was in production. As such, when I first saw the Trebek version, I found myself expecting to see the Super Jeopardy! bonus round at the end of the Double Jeopardy! round.

I only vaguely remember this interim Jeopardy. I loved the original Jeopardy, which I grew up with. And I loved the current version for many years into its run.

The Time's Up bell was also used on Wheel of Fortune, and for a similar purpose (it rang at the end of the game, denoting time for the final spin).

Thanks for the time warp. I was still in elementary school and trying to watch cartoons after school on our B&W TV with an improvised coat-hanger UHF antenna when this originally aired.

This is a basterized version of Jeopardy where the dead last contestant is eliminated after the Jeopardy and Double Jeopardy and the days champion plays Super Jeopardy
@cherylcampbell93692 ай бұрын
It is canon, therefore not "bastardized". It is just a variation, albeit ill-advised 😊

This was not much like the original Jeopardy, 1964-74. But both used mechanically operated cards, rather than the electronic screen from Trebeck’s years.

Especially when Karen got the "Argentina" question right. "The answer is: '4 times the size of Texas, it's the 2nd largest country in South America', and it's Karen." "Second largest? What is, uhh... Argentina?" "RRRRRRIGHT! GOOD FOR YOU! ARGENTINA!" (Wheel "Final Spin" chimes) "Look at that! Double Jeopardy is over, and Karen, with a total of $2000, you are the champion! What a finish."

I kinda wish no-one posted any of the episodes of the Fleming version, his voice sounds very deep and bad and not clear at all!
