'Jeopardy' Contestant Left Playing Solo in Bizarre Moment

"Jeopardy" had a bizarre twist when returning champion, Kristin Sausville, made it into the final round and was left without any opponents. That’s because her competitors ended up with a negative amount of dollars at the end of Double Jeopardy. #InsideEdition

At that point, it was basically a glorified Daily Double for her, where instead of saying the answer in 5 seconds, you have 30 seconds to write the answer.

Yes! If you want more of it, check out episodes of Classic Concentration. Alex sometimes displayed a sarcastic wit, poking fun at the contestants in a playful way.

Somebody messed up on this episode, the questions were obviously too hard. Even the top player only won 8k so it's not like she took all the money away from the other two.

There was 41 correct responses between the three with 7 clues remaining on the boards when time ran out. Stephanie had 11 correct and 8 wrong while Brad had 8 correct, 1 Daily Double correct, and 5 wrong. Brad had just went into the negative on the question before the last.

No final jeopardy is played. It happened once on the Art Fleming era where all contestants finished with zero or negative scores.

An episode of Pinky and the Brain predicted this when the Brain was left alone to play in Final Jeopardy but lost everything if he should've listened to Pinky's correct response so they can take over the world finally. Lol

Well, to be able to play Final Jeopardy!, you need a score so you can wager. If you’re in the red, you have nothing to wager, thus disqualifying you from the Final Jeopardy round

Oh Man! This girl had a chance to make history on Jeopardy by creating the first Jeopardy STALEMATE under Alex Trebek. The girl should have bet everything on the Daily Double and force herself in the Red. Do you know what that means. It means that there would be NO Final Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune would come on 10 minutes early. Instead, the girl won only to be beaten the next day or so and become a forgotten champ. But, she could have been the first contestant in Jeopardy History to create a STALEMATE.

+James Youngblood No...she won 7 days, and has qualified for the upcoming Tournament of Champions. As for why she didn't wager everything--*If she did, and got it wrong, SHE COULD NOT RETURN THE NEXT DAY, AS ZERO IS NOT A WINNING SCORE!!* And, you know that in every single-player Final Jeopardy! instance, *NOT ONE OF THOSE SINGLE PLAYERS BET THEIR ENTIRE STASH.*

Actually, the situation he described has already happened before final jeopardy. Your beloved host still has to use the timeslot so talking filled out the rest.

@ poster, "Inside Edition", whomever voiced this should go to/return to broadcasting school. The man's name was 'AleX'(last letter proununced), not 'AleC'(last letter, pronunced like letter c. Sheesh! Is it any wonder I never watch the program in question?!)
