@@gnirolnamlerf593If you’re viewing on a device other than a phone, such as an iPad, KZfaq shows the top comment when you first select a video. There is apparently a set of subhumans out there who get great joy from commenting on Jeopardy videos with the answer.

@@gnirolnamlerf593 The comments section sometimes loads on the screen just below the video, so that it's visible without scrolling down. When it's in the field of vision, it can be easy to accidentally catch a glimpse of the answer. This is especially true on mobile.

@@gnirolnamlerf593Cant help but see comments here as they appear just below the video player when you watch KZfaq on the web or on a tablet. This commentator is kind enough to add his/her comment with enough votes to make it first on my screen as I write this, thus preventing comments from stupid people who like to put spoilers here low enough on my screen so I don’t see their stupid comments.

Absolutely true. It’s so easy to see the comments even when you don’t mean to.

@@gnirolnamlerf593 seeing as how this comment is the top comment by a wide margin, that should be a good indicator for you that it is a valuable comment to have around. I certainly needed it for this video.

Knew this one immediately. I got his autobiography somwhere around here. FUN FACT: It was West Point who gave him the name of Ulysses S Grant. He was born Hiram Ulysses Grant, but since those initials spelled HUG, he was more than happy to go along with the misnaming.

Ohio is called the Father of Presidents. Virginia is the Mother of Presidents (eight US presidents were born there).

When they wager a unusual amount, I always wonder if there’s a significance? Birth year? Anniversary? Lucky number? And is the wager the key number, or is it the total once they’ve won it. Of course it could all be random, but that’s no fun.

The year was the big hint that led me to Grant. He was a West Point grad from Ohio, who would have started school about that time. Fun question. But, it’s one for history buffs, so the champ should not feel bad about missing it.

Also the fact that West Point is a military academy, so we're talking about someone that may've served in a war at some point afterwards... and the "main" war that happens after 1839 is the Civil War.

This one was easy if you know that only two presidents went to West Point: Grant and Eisenhower.

Got it right, thanks to a book about the presidents that I got as a kid. I remember reading in the chapter about Grant that his birth name was Hiram Ulysses Grant, but he changed it when he entered West Point because he was embarrassed by the idea of having a trunk with the initials H.U.G.
