there's no problem with the weather, the problem is farming is still half done like in the middle age, and rely heavily on chemical, especially petrol by products. and yes, then we eat this crap. just saying, but the japanese did a study back in the 70's/80's to devellop fully autonomous, passive, pressurized dome glass house with hydroponic production. the yeild was incredible, same as the size of the crops, i'm talking tomatoes the size of pumkins all grown 100% without any added chemicals other than nutriments. this thing could have solved world hunger in a matter of a less than a decade. did you heard about it ? nope, jeez, almost as if some people had a versed interest in having less people on earth ...
@joecarr326
@joecarr326 3 жыл бұрын
@@slckb0y65 What the fuck are you on about? Literally nothing you said was in any way right. Yes, they did that experiment but the tomatoes were not pumpkin sized. The tomatoes that do get to be that big are ALWAYS mutations (Which are often bitter or rough to eat) or multiple tomatoes that grow into each other and form one, basic DNA and plant biology prevents them growing above a certain size or every fucker would be doing it if it just needs nutrients. It was also EXTREAMLY expensive to grow the crops requiring numerous production methods (Resulting in petroleum by products) to make the nutrients AND keep the dome operating.

In Amazon: James went on a trip in Japan and hosted a cooking show and has no experience in cooking when he started. Richard was stranded in an island with a former Mythbusters mate Tory Belleci and they work together (and sometimes argue) to settle in the island and find ways to depart from the island. And they were taken in by the police for some questionings about what happened. Jeremy who has no experience in farming wanted to try something to do with more than 400 acres of land next to his home so tried his hands out for farming. And it was difficult in his first tries but getting used to it.

Yeah, but good equipment can last a really long time. People are still using tractors that are decades old and still working perfectly fine. Those older tractors are usually purely mechanical, I don't know if the newer tractors will hold up so long with all the electronics. However, the electronics obviously give you a lot more capabilities.

Eh. We work 230 acres (corn, tobacco, soybeans, tomatoes, peppers, an occasional rotation/cover crop rotated in, hay, beef cattle, hogs, horses, and about 100 acres of hardwood forest) with a 1978 International 454 and a mid ‘90s 65 hp 4WD John Deere. Before the Deere we had a ‘70s 4WD 45 hp Deutz. Nice equipment is nice, but not necessary in my opinion.

The funny thing is, I grew up in a tiny village in north western Germany. I've driven one of those brand new farmers sofas with wheels and yes, they are very comfortable and extremely easy to drive, but from what my dads tells me, the repairs on them are an absolute nightmare. My dad fixes his 1940s tractor with pretty basic tools and if there's a part he can't get (which happened once), he makes or macgyvers it. The brand new tractor that he drives at work, however, is a totally different story. It breaks down several times a month, usually because of some sensor or electronic module. For you to even figure out what's wrong with it, you either have to bring it in to the dealer, which is either a joke or a spit in the face, or call out a mechanic to your location, which is exorbitantly expensive. When the mechanic finally shows up and diagnoses the issue, the dealer then charges you for the price of 3 of my dads 1940s tractors, and then the price of one for the parts that need replacing. And you would think that these types of faults would be covered under warranty, but somehow they're not, even though the tractor costs as much as a house just outside the capital. In this case they didn't used to make them better in the old days, but they definitely used to fuck you in the ass for buying one less.

I've been watching this series on AP and it is quite interesting. Top Gear/Grand Tour it isn't, but I do like how open Mr. Clarkson is with the farm in regards to his timelines, how much things cost vs how much he can make, etc. This is a pretty good window in to the business of farming.

You like the fact he went, tested out a restored tractor that did feed the country, and then bought a Lambo that has the wrong parts, is too big for his shed. Is what world is any of that good decision making for a business. Buying a tractor you can't use, with stupid gears, from a manufacturer that makes cars with bad gears. Its literally like watching 'The Idiot KZfaqr' with his friends playing FamingSim2021. "Where is all our money?" "Well, you see i spent all our yearly profits on A LAMBOURGINI tractor"

@@ulyssesdamon3408 making mistakes as a newbie farmer is part of the learning process. However, I suspect the Lambo tractor had as much to do with the entertainment value as anything else. Once with the excuse "yeah you said it in that non understandable country accent though." Here's an idea Jezza, if you struggle with a country accent, DONT TAKE A PROJECT IN THE COUNTRY SIDE! That sounds to me like he is the only insight into farming you have. Therfor is the 'best' example for you to draw upon. Your point was that he intentionally makes mistakes for entertainment, just like he has always done. Making mistakes is fine. Making mistakes and annoying other people because you think your right in an area you have no experience is just stupid. Look at it from any other area of work, and its just stupid. Like, JC doing say flight work; "I want to start doing flying tours, better buy a Boeing 747 and then tell the pilot and route planner i know better than him." (Funny thing is, he is also dense enough to say something like that.) No money decison by this man is smart. Full stop. Can't decide on a price don't belittle people for capitalising on it, especially when that is literally what your known for doing to others.)
