Rhino should've been a surprise at the end. Putting him on the posters and in trailers just served to heighten expectations.

The thing I have to admit about this movie, Gwen Stacy makes me want to watch it over and over again.

I loved this movie, but at the end it did feel too compacted. I mean, Goblin's and Spider-man's fight went by too fast.

Even with the flaws, I loved this one more than any of the others.

If it was that fucking amazing they wouldn't push back the sequel to 2017 would they? this was the worse spidey film to date.

Holy shit am I one of the few people in the comments that actually enjoyed and really liked this movie. Sure it has it's flaws but come on we actually got The Spider Man this time and people see past it because they like the original and hate this one because he is a "skater" the most nit-picked thing in the first amazing spider man.

This movie was fine.....definitely flawed, but fine. I may get it on dvd later, but it isn't the best/worst movie I've ever seen. And you have to agree, there are some incredible scenes in this movie.

The trailers showed the entire end of the movie, which is so dumb. Seriously.. Rhino 2,5 minute screentime, max. So dumb. Green Goblin, about the same or close to. Just as dumb. He uses how many weapons? TWO?! Knife and one grenade. Wow. Lame. And where was the whole "Oscorp has had you under surveilance for x amount of years" part in the movie? They cut a central plot point, which was in the trailer, out of the movie.

Too many trailers spoiled the movie for many, I can see why, but in my opinion this movie captured the essence of Spider-Man far more than any of the other movies.

I dont understand why people complain about a movie having to many villains. The Dark Knight had The Joker, Two Face, Scarecrow and a bunch of mobsters but no one complain about the movie having to many villains

The acting was great! But I agree, it felt too rushed and they were trying to cram all these subplots and characters into a 2 hour movie. Wish it were better paced because I really did love the characters.

To me, this is my favourite Spider-man movie ever. Andrew absolutely nailed it, Dane was great as Harry and GG, Electro was exactly the destructive kind of villain I imagined he would be, and the movie in general, especially all of the boss battles, looked freaking amazing (pun intended). I would rate it pretty close to Awesometacular.

I honestly don't see how it was rushed or overcrowded. Yeah, it covered alot, but I think it was still felt like you could follow what was going on. It had good characters, good actions scenes, a good story. I think people criticize it because it doesn't hold the audience's hand to explain what's going on to them like in the Rami trilogy.

It looks like what happened to this movie is kinda what happened with Iron Man 3, it has the internet divided. Some people thought it was amazing and some thought it was either garbage or mediocre, in my personal opinion, I thought The Amazing Spider-man 2 was fantastic and quite possibly the greatest super hero movie I have ever seen!

This movie doesn't even come close to the original Spider-Man 2. That was THE definitive Spider-Man movie.

This was Marc Webb's idea before the studio changed everything: Peter and Gwen stopped dating each other. Gwen started dating Harry Osborn, the heir of the Oscorp Empire. He is also the white knight of New York, using his resources to take out bad corrupt Oscorp members and the streets of New York. Spiderman caught the Rhino that robbed a mob bank. Police Officer Jean DeWolff now collaborates with Spiderman. A new villain was introduced, Electro, a poorly paid engineer who got mutated by eels. The mafia world want him to take down Spiderman, so Electro started terrorizing New York. He was stopped by Spiderman and got incarcerated in Ravencroft. But turns out Electro had his minions captured Gwen and Harry, both strapped to bombs and placed on two separate and far locations. Gwen was strapped to a chemical waste facility while Harry was strapped in a Globulin Green storage system. Spiderman decides to rescue Gwen while New York's finest went to rescue Harry. Unfortunately, the bombs went off badly mutating Harry into a goblin like creature, his deformity drove him insane. Gwen was safely rescued by the police, having minor injuries. Electro planned to be caught to capture so he can break the Rhino out of prison and get the mob money. Gwen meanwhile left a note for Aunt May. It's that she can't wait for Peter forever and said she'll be moving to England with Harry to attend university there. Electro returned half of the stolen money to the mafia and places himself in the throne of the underworld. Peter had a chat with Aunt May about Gwen and Aunt May decides to hide Gwen's note from him for a while. Electro then took over Oscorp's headquarters to steal all the technology, what he learned from Rhino. Spiderman came and fought Electro's minions, where the hostages are ironically dressed as henchmen and vice versa. Electro was finally defeated and turns out Electro had corrupted Harry into the Green Goblin. Spiderman was confronted by Green Goblin who was driven insane with paranoia taking Officer Jean DeWolff's family as hostage, blaming his demise on both the police and Spiderman. Gwen came and tried to help Spiderman. Green Goblin fought with Spiderman, even though Green Goblin was defeated, Gwen was killed in the conflict. Green Goblin had a huge head trauma and got amnesia. Spiderman and Police Officer Jean DeWolff decide that Electro would win if anyone found out about Harry's corruption and madness because people would lose hope. Spiderman convinces DeWolff to tell Gotham that he, not Harry committed the murders in order to preserve Harry's image as New York’s ‘White Knight’ and to give the city hope. DeWolff is reluctant to do so, but Spiderman explains he's whatever New York needs him to be while future events show: DeWolff issues a manhunt on Spiderman's; Aunt May burns the note Gwen left knowing that Peter will be heartbroken if he reads it. Harry was secretly incarcerated in Ravencroft. Spiderman takes off into the night but DeWolff's son does not understand the reasoning for why Spiderman must be hunted. But DeWolff explains "because he can take it. Because he's not a hero. He's a silent guardian; a watchful protector; the Amazing Spiderman." Thanks for reading until the end. The fight against Doc Ock on the train in number 2 is what I compare all the subsequent Spider Man movies against. I thought they set the bar pretty high with that one, especially when the passengers wanted to get involved. That was a real nice touch.

The part where it clearly went too far for me was with the pointless power outage/airplane crisis. All that did was drag the movie on for no good reason at all.

Spider-Man 1 - great. Spider-Man 2 - even better. Spider-Man 3 - not good, not terrible. Amazing Spider-Man - mediocre at best. Amazing Spider-Man 2 - I will rather re-watch Star Wars prequels than this movie again.

this movie was not perfect but Sony is just stupid. Just because you make a movie in a franchise that some people didn't like IT DOESN'T MEAN YOU HAVE TO REMAKE THE FRANCHISE. Example: the 007 franchise. Casino Royale was awesome. Quantum of Solace was not but it's okay because we can still make movies and so they made Skyfall that was awesome as well

I literally just came back from the theater around half an hour ago and this movie was SPECTACULAR. Sure, it had its flaws but you could FEEL IT. It was energetic, fun, powerful and just riveting! I LOVED it! The cast was fantastic, the end was just SAD AS HELL, and also: who is that villain they shoehorned in here? You said it's a he, and you mentioned Green Goblin and Rhino. Is it the dude in the hat? If you're trying to hide the fact that you're mentioning Mystique, that was a bullshit scene which was a result of some agreement between Sony and 20th Century Fox - it was literally a trailer for X-Men Days of Future Past.

I don't know why so many of you put your faith in Rotten Tomatoes like they're the god of reviewing movies. RT doesn't dictate what's a good movie/bad movie. The fact that Spider-Man 3 has a higher rating than TASM2 just shows how wrong they are. Spider-Man 3 wasn't a good movie. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 had a lot of good things, and some bad things.

OMG Harry Osborns Green Goblin was not shoehorned into the movie, he had so much build up before he became the goblin, the Green Goblin is more like two face from The Dark Knight, a lot of development with his character before he became a villain… Although I do feel that the plot about his parents should have been kept in the last movie, in this movie the parents sup plot just felt like the futuristic stuff in Assassin's Creed in that we just don't really care about it anymore.

Only reason this new franchise reboot exists is so Sony can retain the rights. I saw the first reboot Spiderman....god it was bad. Spiderman 3 was bad too, but the original Spiderman 1 & 2 were gold.

I like Andrew Garfields Spiderman more than Tobey McGuires. Garfield is more like he is supposed to be which means funny relateble and a teenager. Also the love between Gwen Stacey and peter Parker is shown much better, Mary Jane just pissed me off for a variety of reasons. Yes McGuires spiderman had some good moments but those films were too cheesy and the action was poor. Amazing Spiderman 1+2 worth buying on Blu-Ray: Good action, awesome Character chemistry, entertaining, (mostly) good plot and downright Spiderman.

I honestly loved this movie, it is arguably one of the best superhero movies I've ever watched, when it was over literally everyone in the theater started clapping and cheering. If people complain that this movie is crowded: THAT'S LIFE!!! Life doesn't have a central focus, it is crowded ans stressful, especially Spiderman's life, so think about that.

Why do people hate this movie id say its probably the most accurate to the character of spiderman in the comics. Peter parker was played very well he was a smart guy with relationship problems the comics are full of peter using science to solve problems and his chaotic love life. The way spiderman moved in the fiilm was accurate also the movie captured web slinging through new york perfectly. Even the death at the end was accurate to spiderman lore..... Id say the ppl who dont like it and think its bad either dont read the source material or just want a movie pumped with action and no dialouge

I LOVED THIS MOVIE!!! I loved the first movie as well; more than the original trilogy, but this was certainly the best Spider-Man movie of all time! Maybe the fact that Electro is my fave Spider-Man villain was one of the reasons, and I also loved all the Easter eggs for the fans of the comics. Peter and Gwen were perfect, and I found Electro a really creepy villain, but a really sympathetic villain at the same time. Overall, I REALLY liked it! Certainly the Spider-Man movie which is my most favourite!

I liked this movie for the most part. The only thing was that it was so long and it got really boring. I almost fell asleep in the theater. The action was so cool and I wanted to see more of it.

The original trilogy was better.

Amazing Spiderman 2 was actually really great! Much better than I expected from the trailer. Really the little details in this movie like Electros voice, the dubstep-tesla-battlemusic that was half part music half part soundeffect, the special effects, the slowmo webshot that looked like a hand reaching out, the choreography. It was all really well executed.

after watching this movie, here`s my opinion. *Romance* - 5. I agree completely with Jeremy about the on and off thing between Peter and Gwen, it`s just unnecessary. but I do felt some of the romance scene between them. *a Father`s Secret* - 7. Listen, the whole point of Peter unlocks that secret place just to learn about his father`s secret that OsCorp is bad is not for us viewers who already knows it but for the main character himself, since in the first movie Peter doesn`t even know that OsCorp is bad. so there. *Villains* - 9. sure Green Goblin felt rush, I`ll agree to that. but clearly most people just doesn`t read the damn movie title. it says Rise of Electro, so it would make all the sense in the world for them to focus more on Electro than any other villains for this movie. I mean, yes Dane DeHaan gives a good performence as Harry and GG, but who gives a crap about the GG now. he was already the main villain in Sam Raimi`s Spiderman 1(Norman) and a brief villain in 3(Harry) and already had his ass handed to him by Spiderman with lots of cool action scenes. isn`t that enough. so I`m glad for Marc Web to focus more on Electro. *Electro`s Theme Song* - 9. it`s truly a fitting song for Electro, enough said. *Actions* - 10. they`re by far the best action scenes for a Spiderman movie. and before any youtubers out there say to me ``I was hoping to see him save people and not just the fight scenes.``. let me point out that he saves Max from getting hit by the truck, he saves those people on the bus, he saves another soul from a burning building(even though it`s only a news scene), he saves a cop, he saves those people on the steps during the 1st fight with Electro and he saves that kid from getting killed by Rhino at the end of the movie. so there, it`s a 10 for me. *Gwen`s Death* - 8. now I`m not saying this scene makes me happy. I`m just saying that this scene made me truly feel Peter`s pain by losing her. no other female lead`s death scene has ever hit me the way that this movie does. Rachel in TDK, no. Lois Lane in that classic Superman movie, no. so this scene really was a strong moment. *The Ending* - 8. I know that some people would say that the ending for this movie is not that great. but try to look at it from another angle as well. I have a feeling that they`re going to continue the fight scene at the start of The Amazing Spiderman 3. so with all of this in mind, I say I`d buy The Amazing Spiderman 2 on Blu-Ray.

The main problem with this movie, was the fact that it was over advertised, and because of that over-hyped by many people. I went into the movie expecting the greatest superhero movie in about five years. What I got (sorry to say) was a rather sloppy film, with a FEW great scenes... If this movie gets 'Movie of the year', I'm gonna be pissed!

Sony really needs to stop fucking with the movie itself so much and leave it to the director to do it. They also need to have better trailers that don't give away so much and then cut out half the shit they show from the movie.

Honest truth, (no offense to Jeremy or any other movie critic out their as they do have their opinions and I do respect them no doubt) but I am getting irritated with movie critics review of this film. The only positive reviews I have seen are in comment sections for reviews of this film and even then not all of those comments are positive. This film is beautiful. The pulchritude of the relationships and the character depth I have never seen in any kind of film. I literally cried for moments not one moments but moments in this film and that is hard to do for someone like me for a movie. Is it perfect? No, but it is dang close. Loved it. Hands down my favorite superhero film, no not Marvel film, Superhero film! Again I am not insulting those who hated the film, just sad that they are hating on it (if that makes sense).

Gwen's death could have been better treated... they dedicate so much time to her relation with Peter and then kill her in 2 minutes. In addition, this movie was full of plot holes, it seemed rush and the story wasn't good. The effects and the score were, though. This movie was a gigantic trailer to the next movie, pure commercial crap. 6/10 I hope it doesn't do that well on Box Office or they will never stop!

WOW this movie must REALLY suck (i still haven't seen it yet - not in any rush to do so now) It's the only Marvel film so far that failed to get a "Blu-Ray" or "Awesometacular" score on Jeremy's rating system. It's officially the dogshit of the Marvel universe.

spiderman 2 (2004) is one of the best CBM of ALL time, it has depth, story, action, humor, drama and it's very well paced, it's not too pretentious and not too light either, for that; it makes it one of the best !

But you see, that's where you and Stuckmann are wrong. Goblin wasn't shoehorned at all. His character was built up the ENTIRE THING. Harry was in it - a lot - and then he exploded into the Goblin at the end. His laugh was actually CHILLLLLING. Good lord. That really was one of the best parts. It did THE SAME THING as The Dark Knight. Guy doesn't become the second villain till the end. Yet it's a mess? LOL

I absolutely loved this movie. It's my favorite Spider-Man movie to date. It just captured everything that Spider-Man is. Yeah, the story was a little ruff. But the acting was excellent. Andrew, Emma and Dane just acted their hearts out. The characterization was spot on (for the most part). Electro made a pretty good villain, and Dane made a suberp Harry Osborn/Green Goblin. The special effects are some of the best I've seen, especially the web swinging in 3D. And the emotional scenes are really touching. There's one scene with Aunt May and Peter, and another with Peter at the clock tower that are just tear jerking. I feel like this movie is the "gateway" movie for this franchise. Almost every long-running franchise has one. It serves as the basis for what's the come. I feel like Batman Vs Superman will be the same in this regard. And while it's true that this movie kind of focused a little more on setting things up than on the story itself, it really isn't the end of the world. This will all pay off when The Sinister Six movie comes around and all the villains have been developed. I mean do people really want six movies setting a single villain each? I just wish people would think of it this way, look past these problems, think bigger, and appreciate this movie for what it is: a great Spider-Man movie, but not a perfect film. On Jeremy's scale I give it an Awesometacular, for a letter grade an A-, for a number grade an 8.5-9/10. Why? Solely because it's the Spidey movie I've been waiting for all these years.
