Going for my first 100 mile attempt at saddles 100 in October Did a 52k and started cramping about 12 miles in. I think I was so into the race I completely forgot to replenish as time went on. Definitely want to be on top of that going forward. Thank you for the information sir! Congrats on a successful race!

This was a phenomenal recap. It encapsulated so much of what it takes to finish this beast of a race. Mental preparation and foot care were my keys to a successful finish. Congrats!

I'm jealous of you not having to go #2 during the race. Next time, I'm loading up on the Imodium beforehand and carrying some with me. Lesson learned haha. The altitude didn't really bother me too much, but I could feel my heart rate skyrocketing on some of those bigger climbs to Jaws.

I always keep Imodium on hand just in case, but fortunately I think I’ve been blessed with a stomach of steel. I haven’t really found anything that bothers it yet. Good seeing you out there Pete👊

Jeremy, I would love to know how you plan out your nutrition I understand the gel part but as for the rest of the food was that planned or were you just eating at every aid station etc? I want to learn how to build a nutrition plan for running.

The gels are on a strict schedule every 30 min. The solid foods at aid stations are just based on feel! If I feel hungry for something I’ll grab it. If not, I know the gels will still be enough!

You may have already commented on this question and I understand each person recovers differently but how long would you suggest runners to take post-races (half marathon, marathon, ultras)?
@jeremy.miller
@jeremy.miller 28 күн бұрын
As expected, it’s very subjective. After my first marathon I didn’t run for two weeks. After my 100 miler, I was running two days later. Just have to listen to your body and run when you feel ready to!

Awesome! I'm 17 years old and this is one of my dreams for the future along with doing an Ironman as well. I know you said maybe not 200 miler because of sleep but would you ever consider a Transcon?
@jeremy.miller
@jeremy.miller 29 күн бұрын
Hmmmm I can’t say never! There’s lots of “adventure” type runs I’d probably do first. Like picking random peaks or mountains and running those. I love being in the mountains, so long road efforts don’t excite me as much 😂

@@jeremy.miller Yeah I was just wondering that while I was watching the recap! It would be a different kind of adventure that's for sure. Well congrats again! Definitely an inspiration for me as a 17 year old from Indiana who wants to do what you're doing in the future

Just discovered you this morning, Jeremy. I've added you to my arsenal of inspiring people. I'm 49 and just started running a little over a month ago. I've got my first 5k this coming Saturday(July20th). I'm a recovering alcoholic/addict, and running is saving my life. Hope to cycle and do Ultras one day. Just super grateful for you, man. Great video. I'm learning alot.

The downhills almost sucked more because of trying to go semi-fast and dodging all of the rocks. And then your feet are shifting in your shoes so much that it compounds the blisters immensely.
@jeremy.miller
@jeremy.miller 29 күн бұрын
Exactly! I honestly prefer the uphills. Even though they take way longer and require more energy, it’s much better on the body
