He discusses where the team stands as of now and the team's plans for the third overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit. He also describes the importance of retaining the pieces already on the roster as well as talks about extensions for players in the future.

As a Pats fan in TN and a huge Vols fan, I'm so pumped for vfl coach Mayo! I think it's important we give him time and let him build this team the right way. I'm not expecting a deep playoff run year one but as long as they show improvement and play smart, competitive football I'll be happy. He has learned for years under BB as a player and coach so he will retain some of those characteristics that made Belichick so good. Jerod is smart so with his fresh perspective and years spent learning from the best, I'm excited to see how he plans to bring NE football back to the winning ways we have become accustomed to.

Mayo has been really genuine and transparent about his stance on the team/its moves and what he's still uncertain about, which I appreciate a ton. glad to have him leading the ship

They can’t convince free agents to come here so they need more picks. Draft picks have no choice but to show up in NE. They are afraid to put themselves out there and select a QB for the future because it’s on them if he doesn’t develop. It will be sad if they trade back out of fear or not being able to get players in free agency to build around a future QB. Most important position in a QB rich draft and they are going to kick the can down the road

@ 26:57, I really like this answer because I think it speaks to something very real both in football and in society at large which is our tendency to be quick to throw people away when they make mistakes - there’s so much potential that is being wasted when we have that kind of casual throw-away mentality.

Get yourself a great right tackle; even if you have to pay for one.... 74 sacks allowed is too many. Tampa had 40 sacks allowed and KC had 28 sacks last season

See, what I don't appreciate, when listening to different podcasts, and reporter post, they twisted what he said when she asked , 6:31 does he feel confidence that the current roster and staff can support a rookie qb? He clearly stated that he does have confidence ,"IN THE STAFF", meaning "THE COACHES".. People are complaining, and bashing him because the false reports saying he's confident the team has the "Roster ", to support a rookie qb. He never said that. No wonder Belichick was the way he was, when it came to this media... They sit here with microphones, cellphone recording, and writing crap down, and still can't manage the produce true information.

How would you expect Mac Jones to get the year 1-2 leap when you got rid of the guys in front of him that he had success with in year 1? What happened with the continuity? I stand with Mayo but if we're not seeing post season push by then it might be time to figure something else out

🤨 Don't draft a Quarter Back! You'll be in the same mess as last year. Draft a wide receiver play the 25 year old QB Canadian kid with a ton of experience playing with CFL & NFL players and have more Money to spend to better develop the team to advance. Putting a college QB straight into the Lions den and thinking he will succeed is a mistake.

Jerod needs to have a winning season. I don't want to hear about rebuilding. The defense was top 10 last year. Offense needs to be tweaked. Please keep the Krafts from messing this team up, especially Jonathan.

It'd be nice to have a winning season but I don't think it's fair to put that expectation on a first year HC. I hope he has immediate success but if it doesn't happen right away I don't want fickle fans calling for Mayo's head.

How do you expect him to get around 8-9 wins when there is clearly a lack of talent on the team? Especially when it comes to offensive side. 6-7 wins would definitely be solid, especially considering the teams in there division are all going all in.

I don’t want to win another game until we have a team that can compete with a team like that and that’s gonna come with time and the best draft picks. And too bad bud we’re in a rebuild so you’re gonna hear rebuild. Another tank or 2 is needed and i’m here for it.. if you can’t be patient i suggest you find another team that’s a contender.

Last year's defense was good, but overrated AF. Barmore, Peppers, and some of the LBs really were the only ones who played consistantly well throughout the whole season, but even they inexcusably allowed big plays from time to time.
