The back and forth Q and A clarifying with Parker showed you have really good chemistry! He really explains the fundamentals so clearly and really is connecting with your questions and you're immediately putting his answers to practice. Great stuff! But I think a LOT of your ability to learn from Parker here has come from the fact that you are NOT at total noob anymore! You have a TON of context and feels that were totally apparent not just in the way you swing and setup, but in the way you asked your questions. Your great questions demonstrated that you have a LOT of prior knowledge in terms of both mechanics as well the terminology that *relates* to those mechanics. In the past, you would not have known how to even *ask* such smart questions!!

Always fascinating to me how people absorb instruction. Parker gives you his ideals and allows you to absorb the feel via his assessment of the results. Dan Grieve, another short game wizard seems more "hands on", physically manipulating students movements so they will physically understand the stroke. Both Parker and Dan achieve fabulous results with their students!

I can’t wait to try all of these out. Thank you so much for your wonderful contents. Don’t care for the others saying you should be this or that by now. A lot go through years of taking lessons or playing that don’t really improve their techniques. I will say every single coach I've watched you work with has been an absolute chefs kiss. Everything i have seen they have given you alot of super good tools and tricks to put in your bag for later. Everyone's process is different. Alot of people think you should be just like them. Pay them no attention. Love this video. I was blessed to play for Clemson University and develop an amazing short game plus many tools in my bag. Life just had other plans for me lol. Love the channel keep kicking butt my dude. It was extremely frustrating stepping onto the course and playing the way I did compared to before the accident. Been proud of you and All the work+time you have been putting in. Those bunker shots he teaches are so fun to hit and easy. I love his philosophy of building on the vanilla shot. The super high softee bunker is a blast to play around with. Just trying to see how high you can hit it. That bunker technique comes in handy in deep rough around the green when your ball settles to the bottom.

Just some two cents. Your camera guy needs to frame his shot better so you can see ball positions, hands and head. He's constantly shipping camera view to high then low, in, out. Try and frame it so the viewer gets the full picture as the instructor is talking and move in view when they are focusing on a single point. Keep up the great videos.

I did not know the faster swing and faster rotation put more spin on the ball!! Mind blown! Just like he said about amateurs where the ball comes out fast, that’s me. I chip using the same setup and motion he talks about but I was missing the ability to get the ball to check. I cannot wait to try this!

Jerome, Been watching your progress. Good stuff! Kudos to your camera crew! At 6:00 to 6:30 Parker pushed you and you moved slightly toward the target. Isn't that what Gabe Hjertstedt showed you on standard chips? Move slightly toward target as you swing to the top of back swing?

His key is simple, foundational, and this misses are still good. Been fan of the Chef for years. Keep mixing the umbrella drinks with him at the beach. Getting good in the sand translates to your entire game.

A good short game takes pressure off of the rest of your game. On your approach you are not crestfallen if you miss a bit short or long left or right, for you think I have a great short game to rely on. This in turn makes approaches easier. Vanilla short game shot is good, as there is so much variation in chips or short pitches. You need to inculcate this into your practice routine. Breaking 80 soon. If only you could putt.

I wish I had seen this lesson a long time ago. You are lucky you are getting some great short game lessons. That's where you can really lower your scores. I totally agree with this guy saying keep it simple like Steve Stricker. Don't try and get fancy like Phil Mickelson.

I have a question…. As a “new” golfer, have you had any trouble with performance anxiety? Do you practice and play by yourself and find you do really well, only to play with friends and look like you’ve never played a day in your life? I’d like to see a video with your experiences and maybe some of your coaches strategies to over come it… because it’s absolutely killing me.

I think the way you are approaching this challenge is maximising coaching and lesson exposure. I would however say this is definitely not the fastest way to get to scratch. You need to get rounds in and actually develop “feel”. You are doing waaay too much conceptual and range hitting.. get out in the course and grind it out. You have far too much in your brain for someone so new to golf.. it’s all going to dilute down when you are on the course. Get on the course play and chip away at ONE area at a time depending on your weakness. Perhaps it’s not the best financial way on KZfaq .. but journey wise it would be the fastest and best long term. The way you are going your head is going to be a basket case and it will take several years to distill all these great lessons down into your game. You cannot fully describe your “feel” which means get out there and grind on course. My 2 cents anyhow but of course these lessons are entertaining for the KZfaq plebs. I’ve grinded down from 20 to 9 HC in 1 year but I am able to play farrrrr less so I just focus on one thing (putting for me)

The bunker shot is definitely one of those areas where you have to stop and *rehearse the formula* to make it successful. 🔹90% of your weight on the lead side. 🔹Handle stays in your center. 🔹*Knuckles to the sky* on the backswing and just throw the club into the sand. _woooph!_

Okay the MOST annoying thing is when watching your videos is the camera angles ! Please get your camera guys to stay still with down the line shots keeping everything in frame! AND there are almost NO frontal line shots, to be able to see ball and hand position and placement ! Why the heck would they be recording you from behind , makes no sense!

For me, Dan Grieve is the best short game teacher. Just by watching his videos my short game has improved exponentially in a short amount of time. Still trying to figure out my long game philosophy. I like porzak golf a lot but recently I’ve been dabbling into Dr. Kwon and Craig Hanson.

Great content! However, you need experienced cameramen! They are so inept in framing the subject and shot sequence. For example, when Parker address the ball position, they frame the subject from 'down the line' position.

You're reaching that point of teacher saturation. I know you want to create content, but golf is about practice, playing and gaining experience. You're getting so much instruction your body and head are swimming in instructions. It's a game we play, it's not about positions. As for this lesson, had some good points with his vanilla setup stuff.

How did Bubba Watson teach himself how to play golf and become a PGA pro? It’s called believing in yourself and working practicing everyday, once you start believing others you lose self confidence and all you do is doubt every shot. Swing and you will know what feels right.

You don't need yet another short game coach. Everything James Sieckmann said was great, but so is Parker. If you actually want to get to scratch, you need to just stick with one coach in your area like you do with Dana for full swing work.

First instructor I’ve seen trying to get Jerome to “feel” the swing which is counterintuitive of how Jerome processes instruction which is the technical words and not by feel. Parker said on the follow through, either feel his hips open or ribcage rotating instead of telling what to do mechanically. He’s an engineer so he needs to know the why and not the feel. That why when he leaves the lesson and brings it to the course, if he forgets the instruction, then he goes back to what he thinks he remembers what was said, versus learning the feel and retaining the lesson based on feel. Thats why he asks so much questions. Best Parker advice after his instruction: “ hit it, don’t think”.

He's struggling to understand the short game swing and the full swing are two totally different swings, with totally different goals. He keeps saying "got it" and then goes right back to trying to apply his full swing move. I understand, it takes a long time to wrap your brain around the difference, but trying to learn via the "why" only works if one truly listens and accepts the why, rather than trying to insert their own often incorrect understanding.

I haven't mentioned this yet on the channel, but I've been dealing with a wrist injury the last 1.5-2 months, so I've been working with my coaches safely as one off so I dont lose it but been advised by my doctor to not play as much, but I'll be out there soon, the scores may not be the greatest but I'm excited to go out and play again

5:28 dude is asking you to keep the club low on the follow through and 2 swings in you revert back to a high finish. Need to work on your coachability. Focus less on the result more of the lesson and feels.

He is newish to golf.. he should be playing "golf swing". You must be one of the lucky ones that found their golf swing the first time swinging the sticks, for us not so lucky it's a journey.
