True story..... I have an Aunt that had eleven (out of wedlock) children with eleven different fathers. We were never allowed to talk about it. Two of her sons are in prison and all of her daughters have multiple children (out of wedlock) with multiple baby daddies. She has one extremely successful "gay son" and he's the child she hates. She can except her other sons being in prison for decades. She can accept her daughters having all these kids and being on welfare. But, she can't except her intelligent, kind-hearted, successful son, because he's gay. SMH. She stop speaking to him 20 years ago. My Aunt is one of the most nasty, mean-spirited, ignorant women, I've ever known in my entire life 😢

If you watch the show - it’s a bit much. He uses his need for attachment and fear of abandonment to justify his infidelity, which is dangerous. It’s also clear that there is a lot of self work that needs to be done; away from the cameras. It does provoke some much needed conversations, to be fair, but it also makes me look at him completely differently.

I watched the Rothaniel Special and then another special he did and you can see the difference….. the pain where he’s trying to conceal himself. He skirts around relationships being vague. And talks about he’s going through some things. He clearly got tired of pretending he’s someone other than who he is. It takes a minute for some people. And then in, Rothaniel he shows his vulnerability and it’s raw and you can see his emotions all over his face. It was quite beautiful to see someone being so open about his and his families journey. And you could see how cut up he was about his family and how they are “dealing” with him wanting to come out and be open about himself. I want to watch the show I just found it today. And it looks good and actually real for a reality show. I never came from a religious background but the men in my family were like how Whoopi Described, men are men and this is how a man is and should be. Get in line don’t do this /that etc. I will keep an open mind of the whole show. The whole at least you aren’t a murderer/rapist/Pedo, is triggering. But we shall see…….. As I like him tbh and at least he’s not editing himself to look like something he’s not. He’s showing I’m human and we are flawed but I’m showing me everything it’s refreshing.
