I was four years old when this interview was recorded. I have been listening to this man play rock and roll my entire life. Jerry was given a talent from God. I hope he knows how much I love him. I hope I get to meet him someday in Heaven. His name is Jerry Lee Lewis.

Thanks for sharing this interview. He is a lot less contrary these days. He knows about the bible and calls out people who do not know what he is talking about.

Interviewer is Dave "Daddy Cool" Booth. This was a bonus LP from a Bear Family box set repackaging his Mercury records from the 60's. Amazing collection with an excellent book by Colin Escott.

Jerry never just went on stage, he commanded the stage. One commentator said he was always in full control of that keyboard, he made it seem nonchalant.

Jerry is right in his point but he’s wrong about the word religion not in the Bible it’s in there 5 times. Acts 26:5 Which knew me from the beginning, if they would testify, that after the most straitest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee. Galatians 1:13 For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it: Galatians 1:14 And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers. James 1:26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain. James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Rebellion between (Gileadist) religion and blues music talent = this. Maybe this anti-Gilead singer has 10 whiskeys too many but who cares? Thankfully, Gilead lost.
