Some major electrical issue. So I gave him $500 for it! While in the guys driveway, I was puttering around the motor and went to the front bonnet. Checked out the 6V Battery. I pulled it out to clean the terminals. While putting it back in I saw, HEY< THE TERMINALS WERE BACKWARDS!! So I put the battery back in correctly. The lights immediately came on.... I went for the key... Varoom! It started right up... Loved that little bathtub Porche. Sold it for around $6500 a few months later because I needed a car for daily driving. Miss that little beauty. I'm amazed at the quality of the paint of all of them, even this faded blue one, but especially that one that still shined and only had a few cracks in it, nothing peeling off. I realize they were kept in garages most of the time (and it shows just how important that is) but still, 60+ years is a long time. And that was 1950's paint technology. And likewise all other petroleum products: seats, seals, gaskets, adhesives, etc. All of that is disintegrating in my 1994 vehicle, even when a part was sheltered from direct sunlight, such as engine and transmission gaskets.

She had arranged for a trucking auto hauler to pick up the Mustang and take it back to Vermont from my home here in Coos Bay, Oregon. The driver called us and we met him in the evening on a Sunday at a local shopping mall. It was an enclosed semi-trailer and he had to rearrange a few of the cars that were already in the trailer. He backed out a pale blue Porsche Speedster as it was going to be dropped off at Santa Barbara, California to a Mr. Jerry Seinfeld. My 16 year old daughter went GA-GA crazy!! She wrote a quick note to J.S. and left it in the Porsche. PS: My daughter and I both loved the TV show but my wife didn't like Seinfeld at all. PSS: She at least likes Leno.

This episode exemplifies the reason I keep my old '65 Corvair convertible - 'cause its so much fun to drive! Four-wheel independent suspension, coupled w/ a boxer-6 engine powered transaxle and weighing in at a svelte 2600-2800 lbs. and available w/ up to 180-200 HP, w/ the turbo option (which I'm considering).

Awesome time capsule in motion. Jay and Jerry are great together. As funny as they are individually, I think the laugh-o-meter goes up a tick when you put them side by side in a small space! Good times!

Jay, I love that you gave Jerry the shot at the Speedster! What a great friendship! Love both of you guys shows! Nice that you know him so well. So I was wondering, after seeing Jerry’s perfect zen control crack on one of his Comedians in cars getting coffee episodes, and a little explosive anger creep out, would you rather have Jerry or the Gotti Brothers coming after you to settle an old score!

I felt that, at a certain point, Jerry should have pulled over on the canyon road and let Jay drive. In Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, Jerry did all the driving. If you really wanted Jay to see how great the Sportster was... let him take the wheel on his favorite stretch of road ❤ Loved this episode!
